20/80 rims and tyre change. Never see 9 anymre, always at 8.2 average. Average expressway speed 90km/hr. Never press pedal on slope unless car behhind too aggresive. On shell 95 only. Did not try on98 yet after change of rims. Very stngy to change to 98 now after spenidn so much . I heard someone is able to reach 6.9, I want to challenge that but no idea how to do it leh.

Rainbow, so what is your rough highway to city percentile ?
Mine is 20% to 30% on highway and 70% to 80% on city.

I think if itravel in city, it will be about 8.8.

I stay in city, take train if need to go anywhere in city so seldom drive unless need to go to office. Go office only once a month.

Forte2010, not so sure leh.
But since its smaller (15") in size than SX (17")....the FC should be better.

But need to take into consideration of alot of other factors:
1) Driving pattern (heavy footer or not)
2) Travelling pattern (highway/city percantile)

Post by pessimizt 12th February 2010, 8:16 am

Just pumped my first Esso 8000 this morning.
As i drive on, i see the FC reading jumps from 20+ to 10+ and then 6+ and for a period, i even see 5.3L/100km !!! Metal Bronzee - Page 10 Icon_eek

But as soon as i climb upslope, the FC increases again. Metal Bronzee - Page 10 Icon_redface

So far, the reading now is around 7L/100km. Shall continue to monitor the FC for this tank and will continue to try for another 2 more tanks to get average. Metal Bronzee - Page 10 332362

Post by pessimizt 26th February 2010, 8:49 am

Had a flat battery this morning (around 0715hrs).
- Walk towards car and was unable to unlock / lock doors using remote (bad feeling) Metal Bronzee - Page 10 Icon_eek
- Used keys to unlock door and go in......and alarm never sound off (more bad feel) Metal Bronzee - Page 10 684438
- Insert key and crank start..........no response (siao liao)
- Check headlights (position is off)
- Check hazard light (button is depressed) Metal Bronzee - Page 10 Affraid

Sms my friendly neighbour (joepele) for help and he responded within 30mins ! Metal Bronzee - Page 10 332362

Used my jumpstart cable and clamp both our batteries but still unable to crank start.
joepele crank start his engine and i tried again......still no good. Metal Bronzee - Page 10 Icon_evil Metal Bronzee - Page 10 Icon_evil
After trying a few more times (maybe about 3-5mins later)......joepele managed to crank start my car !!! Phew ! Metal Bronzee - Page 10 Icon_razz
Was about to call AA for assistance then.
Let it charge for 5mins and i move out to office area.
Reached office and turn off engine.
Prayed hard that engine can start again...............and it did. Metal Bronzee - Page 10 Icon_cheers

Should i send the car for checking on the battery ? Metal Bronzee - Page 10 Icon_redface

Thanks a million to bro joepele for the assistance !!!! Metal Bronzee - Page 10 141836 Metal Bronzee - Page 10 141836 Metal Bronzee - Page 10 141836

Sorry bro.....woodlands is way off for me....... Metal Bronzee - Page 10 Icon_eek
Better for you to remember to switch everything off before locking car.
This is a great lesson for me.
I have always thought how come people's car can have flat battery due to forgotten to off headlight or hazard light..........and now i got it. Metal Bronzee - Page 10 Icon_redface
