I dun think the rim size will really affect the FC so much. Now is just upfront top up how much only. Lol. Actually if anyone wants to swtich rims from their stock I dun mind see how to get a deal i top up the difference in the trade in. To me the stock 17 looks good enough.
Yesterday met my client and he asked me hows the car so far, he is interested in this for a period of time already.

You made the switch too? Actually I'm a bit reluctant to let go of the Cerato. It's a damn stable car at high speed and I've grown used to it. But I made the switch because I need a normal plate car and the Cerato is a OPC. But no regrets. The Forte beats the Cerato hands down .

Why this thread suddenly become about FC?? Hahaha!! :-)
But I think best speed for Forte is 110km/h. A way to tell for different cars is, look at speedometer. Where the arrow/needle points exactly at 12 o'clock, thats the optimum speed. :-)
REad it somewhere or someone told me. Cant remember. :-)

But alittle noisy when u go to 100km/h and abv. Might be due to the visor. Any bros without visor experience louder wind noise when u drive abv 100km/h

KingJerry wrote:I mostly city driving.. 95%.. that probably explain why the FC is so poor...
Yeah, there's many ways to improve FC. Personally I find that the best way to improve FC is pump tyre to recommended pressure, reduce load and use expressway. For myself, I never take care of air con, petrol grade, tyre and rim size and rpm. I am forgetful, so I make it a habit to pump tyre everytime I pump petrol. I don't leave anything in my boot except for a few barang that my wife insist keeping it in car and no need to bring in and out. Whenever possible, I use expressway. Even if it means the distance may be longer. But I can improve FC and reach destination earlier than if I use normal city route. For expressway, I try to avoid PIE and especially CTE.

Bros, I realised that if you leave the pump to auto cut off, it will show a better reading for FC as compared to you trying to pump in to the max, ie when the lever auto cut off the fuel, you still try to pump in more (especially in JB).
Is that true?
Well, I use SPC in SG but Shell in MY. So not sure if there is a diff. SPC can give me 7.5l/100km on average 70% expressway. In MY, 90% expressway, the FC shot up to 8.8l/100km (with the kiasu fuel pumping style)

yupz. If you overpump, your average FC will shoot through the roof. The more u squeeze the higher it became.
So if you overpump, you need to reset the average FC.
If you let it auto click then your average FC actually will remain and dun need to reset.

Everyday when you stop by a traffic light, just count how many people walk pass you. At least you got a car . Your life and family don't revolve around your "FRIEND"s opinions of you car.

Re: Friend looking down on Forte
Of course Your friend must physically look down on Forte. If not he'll never see what you drive...
Basically everybodys' preference is different. I won't take it as look down.
If your friend really look down then why must he drive CAR and not Spaceship?

I also dunno. My first few tank i let the uncles pump and they always squeeze extra and when i on my engine my avg FC will jump to 19l/km from the norm. Only when i pump the petrol and let it click, the FC avg remain.

Managed to get a seat next to my car.
@ least 3-4 families were impressed with the Forte and most commented that it is now comparable with Japanese car makes.

cos its te old perception.
some people still think korean cars are crap even though they probably havent driven or ridden one before.
if korean cars are bad, why would taxi comapnies make the switch from toyotas??
If someone argue that the initial acqusition cost might be lower for korean thats why taxi companies buy them, then its wrong.
cost if korean cars are bad, then maintainance cost will be high, propbably they wont use them at all right?
From what i understand, taxi companies usually get the better cars to rent to taxi uncles, they wont want to be stuck with crap that cant be rented out.
the other thing is, they think company with longer history is better.
Crap again, look at all the comapny with longer history like Ford and GM...
newer cars liek forte and avante are introduced to eliminate some of these perception thats why they are better design and build.

i suspect they trade in USD.
cos the price is not going up much.
if it goes up, it is usually because of COE.

Re: Friend looking down on Forte
Driven a sunny before switching to Forte.
Forte is a good car but comparing between those 2 cars i would say Japanese give a better 'feel'. as compare to the forte. sunny really gives a more solid feeling everything just feel tighter.
Forte gives me the impression that it is quite flimsy, just open the door from the inside or pull the boot lever....
i must comment on something, the ergonomics of forte really not that fantastic.
1) why can the door OPEN when driving after the door auto lock. Defeats the purpose of the auto lock.....
2) why cant the driver mirror auto up....
3) usually the driver lock will control all the door locks in the car but not for the forte. i unlock the driver door and ran over to the passenger door and found out that the passenger door is still lock. must run back to the driver door again to unlock in the rain some more.....
4)Lastly the cutch is a killer!!! bitting point so high...
if only they pay more attention to these small little things forte will be a much better car.
