China Kia Forte also have air-con problems, Not cold!
Below are some quote from their forum thread.
福瑞地空调怎么样?
我咋感觉风很大,但是制冷效果不怎么好呢? 你们是不是一样的?
一样,感觉比我的花冠差非常多,制冷不咱们行啊

You must be joking, most public buses and taxi are fully air-con. The average summer temp. is around 35 degree C.
I was there in Aug and I experienced the hottest oven in Guangzhou, temp at 37 degree C during the day which is hotter than Singapore.

Weird, i feel the forte air con quite power le.
And i on 24 wind speed 1 nia.
I think coldness is relative. Still, if there's a MU for air con insulation, i wanna join also!

Really...
Maybe you should "try" the A/C from a Toyota.

Re: Organising DIY Aircon insulation
Ahhh, think i probably will get the insulation. From the previous posts, it shouldn't be too expensive so i guess it's ok.
But the ones i would really like to improve are the sound insulation and the bumpy rides!

I think it would be better for someone to start a new thread and then start to gather 8-10 people before commencing the DIY.

To follow up on the DIY Aircon Insulation,i would like to try doing it myself. i understand that the materials bought can be too much for my own use .Organising this for all forterians to have their own DIY insulation...erm 1st time doing so would like to keep to 8 pax...in case wastage..
Costs will be shared and will have no profit on the person buying the material on behalf of everyone.

Hello hello,
Not much difference at all.
Just a matter of Power Steering Wheel fluid (EX models) and Clutch Fluid (for manual models)
Cheers.

next Air Con DIY Insulation
Thanks Bro:-)
You meant no difference between the 2.0l and 1.6 or the Air Con DIY Insulation makes no difference to the air con efficiency ?
When will be the next DIY , duration of installation and how much it costs?
Thanks!

Hello aswalkersg,
I meant the insulation procedures for 2.0 and 1.6 should be the same. <<-- Any bros can confirm this please because i have not met any 2.0l model doing insulation
There is definitely difference after insulating. Some bros say not much but some others say much better. So it is pretty subjective. And also, must do the correct way too.
The duration of the insulation can range from 2 to 3 hours. The last time round was very fast because we split the insulation rubber among all the people and start mass producing the parts required.
Currently there is no one organising the DIY yet. Maybe you can start off by organising it and getting the materials and setting the date / time of the DIY.
Then i can pop by and assist if the date / time permits.
Cheers !

One of you need to stand up and say "I organise it...this day xx/xx/xx....time: xxhr/xxmin/xxsec...Place..eg. Timbuktu carpark."
And than put up a list for interested party.....
Otherwise....all have to wait for the seed to grow into a tree...etc..

Frankly, the PDF instruction is VERY clear. I DIY myself last week on my own. Trust me guys, you don't need the mentors to guide you for it.

Re: Organising DIY Aircon insulation
Actually, I think our aircon is cold enough if you don't use the auto. Switch to using circulation air instead of fresh air will keep the cabin cool. However, it still can be improved further by doing the insulation... 8)

It is not really the mentor part I believe... It is the fun to do it together regardless the effectiveness... haha...

Points to note if it would help:
1) DIY at multi-storey carpark
2) Bring your own scissors and necessary tools (10mm spanner wrench)
3) Don't really required the glue (I didn't use any)
4) Bring lot's of cable tie
5) Try not to switch on Air-Con prior to this DIY (Condensation from the pipe)
6) Let your engine COOL sufficiently to prevent scalding
7) Prepare cotton gloves (Helps for hot or difficult access area)
8) Prepare drinks for water parade
That's all I can guide from my experience doing the DIY myself.

Nice guide edmundino ! Glad you managed to DIY all by yourself and is enjoying the new a/c !
Like to add on to point (2): The spanner wrench can be found in the spare tyre section in the boot.

Re: Organising DIY Aircon insulation
Someone got to start a new Thread and organise and set a date and location (TS choice). Must be covered area if not all will get sunburnt or dehydrate. Try to be in the noons of weekends because the DIY will take about 2-3 hours.
Once the TS consolidated around 8 - 9 people, get all their contacts and then go and get the equipment i listed above.
Do let me know the date/time/location too so that i can also drop by and see see look look.
Cheers.
