Re: OPC owners - gentle reminder
imagine how much $$ LTA will collect on the admin fee alone
is it wrong to say that they're robbing us blind on the admin fee or else how do u justify that amount per car?

You will still be under the existing restricted timings if you have not opt in for the New Scheme... So, dun drive before 3 pm on Sat if you have not opt in for the new scheme...
Happy New Year 2010!
Errrmmmmmmmmm............
It WILL not start @ the end of Jan 2010.
Matter a fact, LTA has not announced when the full day Saturday driving will start.
I queried them during my visit to LTA sometime in early Dec 2009, and they mentioned that they will only announce the DATE in Jan...
*So it may be announced in Early or Late Jan 2010.
The DATE for the full day driving is expected to start sometime in March 2010.
NOT End Jan 2010.

Dear Sir
Opting Into The New OPC Scheme
FEEDBACK NUMBER: 20100102-0043
Thank you for your email on the above dated 1 January 2010.
We would like to share with you that, the revised Off-Peak Car (OPC) Scheme will only be implemented by end-January 2010 and once it is implemented, the existing OPC Scheme will be discontinued.
Existing registered OPCs' owners (i.e. owners who have enjoyed the upfront rebate of $17,000 at vehicle registration) will be given the choice to opt:
a) Into the revised OPC Scheme that offers unrestricted usage of OPCs on Saturdays and the eve of the five public holidays. They will enjoy a discount of up to $500 on annual road tax, subject to a minimum road tax payment of $70 per year. However, they will not be able to convert back to the existing OPC scheme after the conversion.
Vehicle owners can either apply to convert on-line via the ONE.MOTORING Portal or proceed to the LTA, 10 Sin Ming Drive, Singapore 575701 to submit their application to convert to the revised OPC Scheme with the payment of administrative fee of $100. It is not necessary to break and reseal the OPC licence plates seal(s) to convert to the OPC Scheme. Other operational details such as the application forms to be submitted, etc will be announced when nearer to the implementation date.
b) Stay in the existing OPC scheme. They will continue to enjoy a discount of up to $800 on annual road tax, subject to minimum road tax payment of $50 per year.
We hope the information clarifies and that everything is in order. Should you need further assistance, please let us know.
Yours sincerely
