CnC Thus night operation is for the benefit of opc lor.. either u wait for 1-2 hrs or can collect the next day..
wat i did is go for thurs servicing but i leave it there till friday n collect b4 7pm.. check car condition then wait a while till 7pm n drove off.. this way no need to use coupon nor apply leave.. but the part w/o car is a bit "handicap" lor..

During my 1K service, I drive and reach there before 7am and told them will come back collect after 7pm.

For me i send in my car ard 12midnight & collect it by 7pm nextday. Den ask my frd to fetch me hehehe.

holiday is pass ... but is it saturday can drive whole day ? new rules started already ? i tot new year start for 5 holiday event full day and saturday whole day is start at new year ????

No. The new scheme only start next year 31/1/10 with whole day usage on sat and 5 major holidays eve with increae of road tax.

Err.. becos i started the thread to remind u guys for last sat is special.. u can drive whole day cos it a holiday?! hence, when on the day itself.. i purposely stated "Today (sat)" to highlight again it was special saturday.. i saw many bros benefited from the reminder.. and astroboy teared a coupon on sat.. if only he saw this thread earlier OPC owners - gentle reminder - Page 3 Icon_razz

Thanks to Xianren to remind all that the full sat is only effective 31st Jan 2010! and Guys.. Plan ahead is good. Won't end up tearing $20 for heart pain.

For me... I must make sure to not plan for travel to JB on peak days like Deepavali... Travel took 3 hours to reach the place I want to go... and many red plates were in the jam with me...

5 public holidays are namely, New Year, Lunar New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali and Christmas.
Not all holiday eves can drive (after 3pm), new OPC owners pls take note as it is a serious offence to drive during restricted hours!

Yah, in fact no need to remember.. its printed on the back of the paper coupon.. but when E-coupon starts, have to "remember" lor.. but as liplip says.. its all the races new yr day plus 1st Jan.. so quite easy to recall.. maybe hari raya & hari raya haji a bit confusing to non-muslim ppl? Razz

Haha sound good idea. Ever since I started driving my Dark Knight I will tend to notice forte on the roads. keke Those who wan to spot me quite easy cos I always driving @ uncle speed. (Long time no drive for 3 yrs need to polish back my driving Razz

Anyway, for those who parks @ open car parks when you are not driving...

How or where do you park??

e.g.
If no shelter... what do you do? etc.

Personally... I'd turn off the A/C and set the air flow to come from the outside and wind down the window about 2-3cm.

Worried about the PVC seats cracking...

Anyway, anyone with good recommendation to "condition" the dash and seats?

I'm using armourall (the yellow bottle one)... But I find it's too wet and the spray type one is too oily...

The new scheme only kicks in by end January 2010.

So if you are driving at OPC today, you are not in the new scheme but the current scheme.

for those who are already driving OPC car, you've to opt-in for the new scheme, it's not auto-inclusion.

and the road tax rebate will be reduced from $800 to $500. for $300, i don't mind paying in so that i can drive for the whole weekend.

The formula for calculating road tax can be found in this website:

Based on the formula, Forte's road tax for the whole year is $846.62. But for OPC, we have a $800 road tax rebate.....so road tax is $46.62. But under the rule, minimun road tax is $50. So, all OPC Forte currently pays $50 for the whole year.. OPC owners - gentle reminder - Page 3 256379

In the new OPC scheme next year, where the road tax rebate is only $500, we have to pay $846.62-$500 = $346.62 for the whole year. Or about $300 more a year instead of just $50.

All this for the grant opportunity to drive without restriction on 52 Saturdays.

Unless my maths is koya... extra 7 hours each Saturday for 52 days = 364 hours.

You have to pay $300 more for 364 hours = $0.82 per hour.

Looks reasonable...assuming your drive out at 7am each Saturday....

So basically instead of paying $50 for annual road tax, under the new OPC scheme, you'll be paying $200+ (1.6L)

Yesh, i believe existing owners receive some information from LTA not long ago right? i will opt in too.. just wondering how the heck the TP going to monitor on Sat.. imagine some opt in.. some not.. i suspose they will jus ramdomly take note of ur number n check over their system.. and if human error while noting the number then how?
