Kia and Hyundai 1.6 engines are CVVT-engineered. They don't need to stick "CVVT" logo like the Toyota's VVT-i. We know it is there already. Smile

I asked myself this question before. The car brochure said both 2.0L and 1.6L are both CVVT.

Hence I assumed it is CVVT.

think those stick with CVVT cos that is the main selling point.
just like VTEC back in 90's?
Nowadays only MIM and MIC would want to should about this.. many moves on with DSG, XWD etc.. haaa..

personally i think forte have too many selling points and this would not be the main... haa.. grin

I always think the word "CVVT" is used for the type of auto transmission rather than type of engine..... scratch think I m outdated liao....

CVVT = Continuously Variable Valve Timing?
similar valve opening technology such as VTEC / CAMPRO / VVT / VANOS. etc...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continuous_variable_valve_timing
hope this helps. Smile

Most of the car are using CVT now..

Honda Jazz using CVT yet Honda Fit using DVT.

That is the reason why there's gearbox issues during the first 2 batches of Honda Fit..

I think CVT tech is efficient but kind of boring.. underpowered feel to many.

still better than most convention gearboxes that shift like a snail and give you a jerky affair.

so far, the best auto gearboxes are twin sst, dsg, s-tronic, and others. Manual gearbox is no match for these.

personally i think forte gearbox is abit too low.. 5at would be the best choice.. i think... it seems the car low speed FC is kind of bad... (understandably)...
