Questions on 1k servicing Empty Re: Questions on 1k servicing

Post by joepele 6th July 2009, 12:40 pm

Hi guys,

Coz basically, running in also = fine tuning of the engine condition from the rough edges in the engine.

Actually most vehicles are factory run in but still better to do a proper run in on your own.

Normal conditions, one will only change oils @ 10k intervals.

But running in is different cos the distance is lower and the oil will be full of fine metal particles. That;s why they usually dun recommend fully syn oil cos it's a waste of money.

Mechanics will usually will recommend fully sun after the 5k run in.

Rule of thumb...
Mineral oil is not that it's not good... but the life is shorter.
usually 5k only

Syn oil is not exactly fantastic, only good point, change less frequently.
usually 10k.

Anyway, if you need more protection... use a higher viscosity oil then.

Oh ya... rule of thumb.
Higher viscosity - More protection, lesser performance.
Lower = vice versa.

SAME!!!! they told me no problem with alignment.

Ok lah after driving since they service I think really cannot feel anything if I go straight, but when on a bend, esp on expressway like PIE, can feel it move alot to the left.

what i told them is i continue to monitor, but next time i complain same issue again

Serious!?!?! Tish bro...if some naughty ppl see that, there is a chance that they might push ur car out and leave it in the middle of the road blocking everybody.

Worse still....tow truck juz hook and go...don't even need to break anything.

bro off topic ley, not talking about that incident in particular. that one an accident which no one wanted also. all i know was it was not his duty to check the vehicle, u think its officer job to check to vehicle? specs job ley.. all i know he was a very nice guy who was doing someone else's job.

ok, at least from that we learn that we at least need handbrake?
