Re: Which fuel is good for Forte
This is a very subjective question..... Their pro n con and how much you r willing to spent....
I like shell V power..... the pickup is Good
Caltex techron doesn't serve good mileage for me but techron simply mean cleaner fuel.....
I think fortec was tryin on esso on his manual forte n it serve him Good..... so it is really up to u to try.... test out lor.....

Re: Which fuel is good for Forte
hi bro, up to each preference, no one here willing to test fuel.thaliamei wrote:Any recommendation?
1. u need to try all grade n brand. 92,95,98 and their brands
2. u need at least 2 tanks to try
3. u need to drive the test pattern constantly, road traffic, jams and how u press the accelerator
4. determination, by the time u try all finish...5 pertol brand and grades almost 30 over full tanks....
i stick to caltex 98 unless i bo bian, from my 10 yrs my experience its my best fuel...
in SG, maybe u want to choose by which overall, cheapest n most discount % instead of the best?

Thanks for the info.
I am a newbie driver, I think will be getting my Forte end June.
I am planning to go with Caltex, with Citibank Dividend, the total discount should be around 9%.

I've been using Esso 92 since I collected the car, no problems at all.

Re: Which fuel is good for Forte
SPC 98, 95 and 92 all tested... Butt Dyno reports negligible difference. The varying octane levels offer similar or very close levels of Z-O-O-O-o-o-o-o-m-m-m...

hi folks, not sure was this posted b4. Juz to share, this site will tell you which brands offers the best house and cred crd discount.
http://www.petrolwatch.com.sg/
Using SPC 95 now with Everyday card. Total discount is ard 13% (incl 3% crd rebate). Thot of switching to Caltex cos of techron but is this a gimmick?

Re: Which fuel is good for Forte
Qaz, I would only pump SPC if my car fuel tank was bone dry and I had no other choice. And probably only enough to get to the next station. I had some really bad experiences with the SPC station in tuas area, my car's mileage and engine was in terrible conditon after only 4 tankfuls of their 98 octane petrol.

Mileage covered - 586-km
Qty Filled - 42.085-litres
FC - 13.92-km/litre
Expecting the servicing which I did last Friday to affect the next tankful somewhat...

Re: Which fuel is good for Forte
Hi all, just thought would share some views with regarding to Octane levels. I'm currently driving a 08 honda civic and waiting for my forte to come. Anyway, i realized that a higher octane really causes the engine to have less vibration. Tested this with different brands. Currently on Esso 95 but the vibration is much higher than on 98. However, must save money cause I travel alot so no choice.
It really depends on how sensitive your engine is to fuel. I used to drive the 2.4 Sonata, the taxi model now. It was fine with 95 fuel however 92 the engine sounded rather rough.
What I think is that performance wise there is difference but negligible. So its really only whether you can "tahan" the engine vibration.

Re: Which fuel is good for Forte
actually i spoke to my SE about it cause my friend booked during pre launch and up till now still no car. She said that C&C can only afford to eat 2 to 3k max to help customers top up COE. Anymore than that a little difficult. And i was telling her that I really need car urgently and to help me push up my shipment and she managed to. If not I will get during August already.
