Forte - 'Quite Good'

Got my rear bumper resprayed yesterday to fix some scratches. Old uncle at paintshop very nice, also helped to spray my new sharkfin antenna.

Then, just before I pay him, he throws me an innocuous query (in Mandarin)...

'So, how much did you pay for this?
'Huh?' I didn't quite catch his drift.
'When you got the car...how much did you pay?'
'Oh...' Silly me. 'Around $50k'
'The car's quite good, huh? Korean build quality getting better and better, all the parts very nicely made. Better than Japanese even.'
'Yeah...guess so.' But my beaming smile probably gave it away.

Notwithstanding all the problems some of us have reported since the coming of the Forte, I'd say we have ourselves a little gem of a car we can all be justifiably proud of. Even lao unker thinks so!

Yeah! A lao unker who has seen ALOT of cars!

aiyoh i heard this a few times already especially earlier in Mar when I just got my car...
from colleagues, friends and the petrol kiosk attendants

pity only those who are biased still think korean cars are not good.

too bad for them, they have to fork out more for a similar car.
