hey johnno, apparently this shipment no 1.6A & the next shipment will only comes in ard mid dec to end dec. So if mid dec prob can still get it by yr end.. but if it comes in end dec then must wait till jan already leh...

Just came back office. Back from making payment for my Forte. Spoke to SE, Shipment came in last weekend, key into computer on Wednesday, only about 10 Koup this shipment. FYI .

knew this for quite some time alreasdy.. nd fresher news... haha..

hmmm..i'm not sure if it's appropriate to ask this here, but if e worse scenario were to happen, tt we still do not see signs of our car coming in after like 5-6mths of waiting, can we actually threaten Kia to bring our COE elsewhere to purchase a car? -.-

can not you bid the COE under C&C but you want can buy mitsubishi or car under C&C should not be a problem. if want can go for EX

actually i got ask my SE before this question sometime back. cause of the uncertainty of how the ride will be as i was only able to see the exterior of koup which was barricaded and on a higher platform. therefore can't even have a glimpse of the interior at vivo.

the respond was yes, we can actually buy that COE back from cnc and cancel the order. If u just want to go to next door to buy Mit then definately no prob.

If eg buy a chevy cruze, u are able to do so too but do take note that cruze's selling price without COE will cost more than if u buy from them at the very beginning.

Also take note that your booking fee might not be refunded.

Say if I got pissed off, can I just give up everything? COE doesnt matter to me cos I might get a bigger car.

I can give up the 1K booking fee too.

bro, i dont think u can give up ur COE cause if not wrong, they bid using ur name and nric. i not very sure about this. best is check with ur SE. or other bros or sis whom have encounter similar situation can advice NiVleK.

Yeah. You sign the authorization letter for them to help you bid. I didnt get a copy of that letter. If I have, I could read the binding terms.

There were 3 signatures if I remember correctly:

1. Sales agreement
2. Loan application
3. Authorization to LTA for COE

If you want to cancel your order with C&C, the term is that they forfeit your booking fees ($1K for me) and you will have to buy over the COE from them in full cost. The COE is good for 6 months, if you managed to buy another car from another dealer within that, you can use your COE to register the car, if not, you could get an extension for another 6 months (or is it 3 months?).

The problem I see is that most new car dealers sell car with COE packaged in, if you want to buy another car without COE, you won't get a good price, so, that is the dilemma you have to live with.

For my 2.0A, my SE told me I might actually get the car earlier than the Feb/March that they promised. He spoke in non-binding terms of course. Contractually they need to deliver the Koup to me before end of March, beyond which I will have the right to KPKB.

hmmm..for me, my contract states late nov/late dec/jan'10. which i think is not possible at all given e current situation..haha! actually, i also hv no complains la, bcos i'm getting an opc. best is wait until end jan, register e car under e new opc scheme. more convenient i feel.

but then, i dun quite udstd why is Kia making similar mistake again after e cerato forte issue. it's obvious tt Kia is all along positioning itself as value-for-money car maker, gauging at their competitive pricing. and isnt the objective/target for such strategy usually to profit from quantity. so shdnt they hv alrd foresee a surge in demand right after launch? yet it seems like they did not prepare beforehand.

i'm not sure if 200 bookings within e first few mths is really tt exceedingly overwhelming, but come on man, 10 koups for e first shipment? isnt this a big joke on us with have booked it a few mths ago?? and frankly, i dun really bliv that Spore Kia has absolutely no idea on the production status back in korea. how is tt possible? a car is not smthg tt takes a few days to be manufactured lor..so they shd hv a good idea on how much they can produce and how much are available to ship out? of cos, i dun expect the SE themselves to know la, but at least e management should provide more information to be pass down to us lor. waiting like this aimlessly for months is really kind of sianzzz...

JF_Koup, I think 200 bookings for 2 doors Kia is a surprise to C&C. Traditionally coupe does not sell in that number, so, to get overwhelming response from the Koup is a major pleasant surprise for C&C and I am hoping they are working with Kia in Korea to allocate more units for Singapore.
