Cos i paid for insurance, 1st mth plus i did not take d full loan.... In fact should be more cos current ride lose almost $9k.... SE just told me maybe DEC! So u oso booked yr in white?

never took d red leather... cos it's harder to maintain... plus red or black leather in actual fact cost d same price if u do it outside... i stick with black leather....

i only pay 1k deposit as well.. and that's all I've paid only. Mac is right, SE will only ask for payment when the car already allocated to us and ready to be registered

It depends on individual, some pay high downpayment so if 1 shot pay 5k can use credit card u get alot of points. C&C only allow to use credit card once. I have ppl who pay up to 10k just to get the credit card points and the amt can be used to offset the downpayment so y not.

what do u mean by only once? Last time my fren bought, can use more than once leh. as in booking use credit card. when settling remaining payments also use credit card

i have standard chartered credit card, any amount above 3k entitles me to a 5% cash back
thus if possible, i'll increase credit limit and put 10k into the card, that'll give me a $500 cashback which i don't even have to wait to receive, i just pay $9500 straight into the account

Easiest is to call your SE to confirm.

What kind of Stanchart card is that which give such good rebate? My citibank dividend card only give certain purchase 5% (like petrol) but other purchase has very low rebate rate like 0.1% or something.

I read the T&C, they capped the rebate at $300 per quarter. Meaning, if you spent 10K, max is $300. So best is to spread out the expenditure to get the maximum percentage.

if i'm not wrong your 1st payment isn't for down payment
its for deposit which later when refunded, becomes down payment

thus technically you can't use your cc to pay for down payment, only deposit

i really dunno how it officially works. Previously when i went with my fren to book, the SE also said same thing - the deposit (1k paid using cc) will be refunded 2 weeks after delivery. But when called to go down make remaining payment (1st installment + insurance + any other top up), the SE adds up all the cost then he minus (offset) the 1k deposit and then the remaining final amt paid using cc again. and that's all. So no refund needed after delivery.

let me gives an example:

say at booking i pay deposit: $1k
Then when need to collect car, lets say got this scenario:

first installment: $500
insurance: $2000
Top-up leather seat: $300
Here total: $2800 rite..

Then the SE will do this: $2800-$1000=$1800.
Then charge $1.8k to the cc.
