How about those with 16" rim, do you all face this problem?

If your Forte has the hump knock problem, have you sent an email to the Kr email address? Be proactive, do not wait for CnC to come up with the solution........ may have to wait until the cows come home.

I've just sent an email and also requesting them for a reply soon.. I've indicated in my email tt many of us in SG are encountering this knocking sound problem.. so hopefully the person who receives the email will respond..

hi all.... would u mind combining power over at sg kia club?

we hope to gather at least 10 fortes?

drive over to their biggest servicing centre and alert them of our issue peacefully and ask them to rectify. (not necessarily on the spot)

once they find a remedy, then our next servicing at say 5000km they can proceed to resolve.

Let's all wait for a couple of weeks and see if Kr or AD can solve the prob. After that all Forte owners should make 2 placards measuring about A4 size to display on front and rear windscreen. On the placards the words should be prominently written: "Front Suspension Knock Sound Going over Road Humps". All Fortes with placards then meet up and then slowly drive along Alexandra Road, Leng Kee and Redhill making that circuit at least 10 times on a Sunday. Sure to make an impact. Better still, this forum and sgKia also inform the local news media...........

to be fair, this is a good car.

so why ruin the reputation of a good car (which u own) when u'll be the one driving and selling it eventually?

agree that we give them a bit more time before we re-act. used to be more "hiong" when i was younger but now lao liao...slow down a bit ...hopefully this is called wiser when you get older !

anyone ever think of driving to a 3rd party wkshop and ask them for opinion.....if only require some minor work, I really don't mind paying to get it done with..

It would be really good if someone knows an automotive engineer or mechanic who can identify the source/cause of the knock and what needs to be done to rectify it.

Its is the factory fault they may have some solution instead of from C & C. Anyway don think its a life and death issue.........cool down.......

hiak hiak.. not thinking dat way lah.. juz wondering if it will affect the car on long term.. furthermore, other cars hardly hv this constant knocking sound leh.. skarli if really got prob and dun highlight, next time bring back to C&C may be more problematic lor..

if got factory default they will recall agent cars to fix it. but not sure for parallel importers if their workshop will fix the problems...

Actually ar.... My hubby reminded me something... Korean are very proud of their language juz like japanese so only a handful of them understand english.... The e-mail which we have send I presume 100% in english rite... anyone here wrote to them in korean??? haha... so to them I think our enquiries is juz like our junk email.... fill with language tat we don't understand and will simply delete it off....

couldn't agree more...koreans super proud..go downstairs buy cigarettes also must dress nicely one..not like sg wear bermudas n slippers..their image very impt..

actually my old ride have the knock sound over hump at the rear when I just took delivery of the car, when I brought it to my own mechanic, found that something was hitting the damper, after some adjustment, the sound was gone...but after 4 yrs later, even though I changed to a new set of dampers at the rear, the sound is back but since I changing my ride, just live with it....

aaahh.. maybe will ask the mech to adjust the car when i send it down on the next servicing @ 6k..

Maybe each of us should take a pic of our Forte with the front wheels on a road/carpark hump and with the driver pointing to the hump with his/her left hand and showing the thumb-down sign with the right hand. Kind of like sign language..........

Even the Koreans will understand it.

I have said it already just email them simple english with subject Hump Knock,Hump Knock they will definitely reply to you.

You may have something there, nocash. Maybe we should just state "Forte knock Sound when Humping" and out of curosity Kia Korea may reply to find out more

Nocash, thanks for the direction to ManCanDo. I got the underbonnet insulation fitted there. Couple of minutes to fit and $80 poorer. Chap who fit it is a very friendly guy. I am pleased with the installation.

I suggest when u guys sent your car for servicing, take the mechanic out for a ride and show them the "sound". I did this previously when my car has sound from the front wheel. They can then help to determine the cause and hopefully remedy the problem.

ya i think that is a good way to source out the problem....

Until now, has anyone got the hump knock sound problem rectified by CnC?

2day i went to my own mech and he told me tt the suspension is not very good quality leh.. He said it's not normal for new cars to have so much noise when going over the hump.. He advised me to make lotsa noise @ C&C and get them to investigate.. and challenge the ppl there to ask them if it's normal to be noisy when going over the hump.. aiyo... another thing tt he highlighted is oso likely to be due to the wheels bah.. coz too high profile, not much cushioning to absorb "pressure" when going over humps or on uneven roads..

maybe ask those who have change to 16" rim.. do they still face this knocking sound issues..

many of them got no resolution.. hmm... thats bad!

Unfortunately such problems are very time consuming as well as cost ineffective to identify the problem which most workshops, factories and companies will probably ignore based on the simple fact. NO PROFIT.

Unless it's a real serious major issue...I doubt we gonna get any real "look into" by C&C or Kia.

Then gone case...got to bear with it liao...
