For the cup holders part... was thinking of putting some of those 3M / 3A mats...
Some cushioning.

My granny's place.
My car managed to touch 140-150km/h...
Only 1st servicing.
Anyway... over the last couple of days I tried to use only the fan w/o the A/C... the FC improved and there was quite an increase in the torque... Quite substantially...

Is it noisy ?

First, I'll describe what was in the car....
My wife and 2 kids (3 yo & 7.5 yo)
parents.
Boot 1/2 full going into Msia, boot full to brim when coming out.
*The customs officer also did not bother to check...
Let's just say that my initial intention was to
1. Wheel Balancing
2. On wheel balancing (High speed balancing)
3. Hydrogen gas for tires...
What I did...
Nothing...
1. The car was quite stable even @ 120km/h constant...
2. @ 140km/h... still stable but because the engine was still running in... I was @ that speed for less than 5 mins each time.
3. Since did not do 1 & 2... did not really bother with 3 as well... Coz I remember a lobung in SGP that for 20+ or so... they also allow you to go back to pump again when the gas is low.
Am just waiting for the car to be fully run and then try again.
Noise? Well... Mine is a 17" vs your 15"... how to compare le??
It's def noisy but still acceptable as the iPod was always on @ volume 8 or 9... with SDV on.
*Personally... I find the noise insulation pretty good... IMHO, it's even better than the Altis.
Sometime, with the iPod on @ 6 or 7... I can hardly hear the cars if they were honking me...
But yesterday tried something else.
@ TPE towards SLE, took the Serangoon / Houguang exit...
The corners were quite.... tempting...
Usually would take those corners @ about 50-60km/h...
Yesterday... took the corners @ 80+km/h...
The grip was quite impressive I'd say...
My previous ride's (Altis) handling did not even come close @ handling @ the same corner even @ 60km/h...
But having said that... the Altis is def more comfortable....
But the Forte is def more fun.

Quite inconvenient location but they make it up for
1. Great boss + great service
2. Great opening hours (mine is an OPC)
3. Decent pricing, these are 35 / pair + installation.

Hi,
how does the curtain look like when it is fully extended?? will it be very crumpled when nearing the side mirror portion where the window curves downwards?? I'm looking at installing this but concerned about the amount of "spare curtain" flapping around when fully extended
thx

There are pros and cons...
These curtains come in 3 sizes if I am not wrong.
Small Med Large.
Mins is Med if I am not wrong... coz I told the guys @ Motec that I dun want it to "slack"...
So if you take a closer look... mine if actually quite stretched.
And the top and bottom rails are actually being held in place by double sided tape + a little glue.
*mine actually came off a once or twice... but they guys @ Motec were nice enough to stick it back for me.
Anyway, if you see the shape... as the curtains are being drawn closer to the side mirror, it starts to slack slightly... but for me... still acceptable.
*It's def not as loose as if I were to get 1 size larger.
Personally, I find that this "tightness" gives it an organized and classy look. A little more slack may make it look a little sloppy.

Re: Joe's Metal Bronze SX
Posted this in another thread but thought it'll be good for my thread too...
----------
My prev ride, I did in Msia
1. Balancing (4 wheels)
2. Alignment (4 wheels)
3. High speed balancing (2 wheels)
For about 80-90 Ringgit.
Divide by 2.4 = 37.50 SGD.
Pump Nitrogen for 4 tires is another 10 Ringgit I think...

Bro, you are most welcome (i am preparing a step-by-step guide for others to download). So far do you feel any difference for the air-con ?
Check with you, the purpose of pumping nitrogen is to:
- lighten tyre (thus improving FC) ?
- or some other reason ?

Cool man!
Nitro in the tire is good for
1. Lighter gas but honestly... how much lighter can it be?
but it's def a cooler gas.
e.g.
Unlike the natural gas that we pump... Nitro is able to keep it's "coolness" even when the tires are hot so... does not expand the tires... so lesser uneven wear @ long distances.
2. Does not need to be pumped as frequent.
Reg gas needs to be pumped / topped up @ abt 2 weeks?
Nitro maybe @ 4 weeks or so?? (If there are no punctures la)

Re: Joe's Metal Bronze SX
I assume have to get it checked and pump at special places huh ?
For my case, i pump petorl and check the tyres together weekly.
The tyre pressure sometimes go to as low as 210 within a week. Wonder if this is consider fast ?

You mean the Nitro?? Yes. they need a Nitro extractor or something like that to extract it from the env and pump it into your car.
But IMHO, if you dun really travel long distances... dun bother abt the nitro thing. not really worth it.

1st time car owner?
As for the gauge, there should be an instruction manual.
As for the gas station... pressure should be 220-230KPI or 32PSI.

Re: Joe's Metal Bronze SX
Not really, 2nd time but many years back not driving lost track on vehicle thingy. So, once set at desired KPI and pump I remember there is a tink tink sound wat is this indicating?
Forte899- Junior Member
Re: Joe's Metal Bronze SX
I normally set it to 230 as a taxi driver told me before that the pump at the gas station might be slightly off.......
As of the tink tink sound.....it is to inform you that tire pressure OK liao

Re: Joe's Metal Bronze SX
My 2 cents / review on the air con insulation.
As mine is an SX and I've been without one for about 1 month liow... can really feel the difference.
Coz
before the install... Pessimizt can verify.... the pipes were so damn
hot... I wonder how the hell it's supposed to "pump" cool air into the
cabin?
I guess the fan is not blowing that "strong" / high now is one thing... but my
thoughts are that since the pipes are now insulated... the compressor
did not need to work that hard to pump cool air... the engine has more
resource for the drive.
*Not sure if you guys know what I mean.
I kinda feel a slight increase in my drive.
Almost comparable with my upgrade to Hurricane filter... but better!
Thanx again... anyway, how much do I owe you for the materials again? other than the dinner treat that is.

Installed the Hurricane filter over the weekend...
Bought it @ Vim & it was Easy to install...
The was what it came with...
The air filer "box".
There are 4 release on the box to be "removed" before it can be opened.

Replaced...
but noted...
The paper filter looks clean here coz this is the top...
Here is an image of the bottom.
*The filter is only 1500km old.
Not exactly very dirty but would make a difference @ 10,000km.

Rims
After much consideration...
I have decided to change the rims...
But however, after much more deliberation...
I decided not to change to the rims I had posted earlier cos...
1. The rim I got were almost 1kg lighter...
2. The price is about 100 bucks in difference...
3. The brand of the rims I got were "better"
4. It came with those anti-theft nuts... which if were sold separately would cost maybe 100 more??
5. It was in Hyper black which is almost the same as black chrome which cost a bomb now...
However, it made my car look sportier... which is something that I was trying to avoid... but this design was one of the more boring designs that I could find...
Well... here it is...
ENKEI SC09
According to the boss, these were 7.8kg.
Compared to these 11kg heavy weights.

Enkei SC09 Review so far
Since the rims change...
I've only managed to cover about 20-30km of off peak city driving.
Here's what I noticed...
1. The FC did go down slightly but not significantly... maybe need to travel more??
*I just topped up my fuel and is currently @ the first marking from the full mark.
Previously, the reading was 11.5l/100km but now it reads 10.8l/100km.
2. The pick up is for sure lighter. So a big big plus point. Considering it lost about 3.2kg from each axle... a total of 12.8kg...
*Note weight from the axle is different from weight from the cabin.
3. Honestly, I was not that hot about the sporty look.... But hell.... FC is more important... Was told that the earlier rims may be made in China... Not sure how true...
4. Why wouldn't I wanna pay slightly more for rims that are lighter and from a better make?
Anyway, comments?
