I still personally think that it is ok for to drive down my mscp to wash my car. No rules that is general enough to mention that mcsp is a road. So basically For OPC owners just do what you think is right. No need to ponder and question.

anywhere it is the same, traffic police can fine u and the only way u can do is either pay or appeal/ protest. not being a police state - just the way government are set.

if we use that generalisation, everywhere is a police state. OPC Query - Page 3 Icon_smile

If i may add, there is a fine line between a fine and being fine with the rules. If it may come with a possible fine, better dun advise wrongly and when someone else thought it is ok, they get slap with a 5k summon.

agree with aural. LTA never say won't fine you. The rule say you can be fine.

Discretion means can still fine you. (I prefer this definition when it come to rule in Singapore.)

Singapore is a land of law. Our MM also say so liow. Everyone here must respect it.

So Singapore is a fine country.

I believe the e-coupon will only start wef 23 Nov 09. However, you may purchase the e-coupon in advance (if u know which day u need to drive your OPC).

Anyone find out this esp OPC drivers?

I suspect they will not fine you on the spot but get ur number and key into the system. By mid night u did not buy and the system did not capture, few days later u will get a nice letter.

Actually as the authority, i think the e system may be easier for them in this aspect to enforce than to send people going around and stopping cars. Now dun need to stop just need to take ur plate number.

one method is you can go to any AXS machine, click on LTA -> e-licence -> input car number ..... pay$$. If used on Dec 4, you have till Dec 5 2359 hrs to make the payment.

Got a question.

When do we stop using the OPC ticket?

Also, when does the full day on Sat start?
Jan or March?

How do we convert the road tax to be able to drive full day on Sat?

How do you register for the sms service? via onemotoring? I even tried to purchase via WEB and it is so slow to process my request. In the end, got to go to S/Post to buy the e-copon.

Btw, if you happen to have spare paper coupon with you, you can actually "convert" into e-coupon or change it to hard cash at Singpost.

Bro Joe => while being "interviewed" tomorrow, maybe you can check with them on the process of opting in to the new scheme Razz

i think they will have a system to differentiate ba..

the only thing i find weird is the $100 opt in thing.. shouldn't it be for people that wanna opt into the new scheme AFTER it is implemented?

my SE told me my car should be arriving in jan.. so it means if I register before the new scheme comes in, I'll have to topup $100? quite lame leh lidat..

Seems like there were many pple who also kenna...

But they converted the paper license to e license...

In an out in 30 mins... but they said it was a 1 time off thing... next time... will kenna interview liow.....

..........

Anyway......

As for the conversion thing..........

They mentioned that more details out be released in Jan.... but not sure when in Jan.......

Damn......

2 things......

1. They are quite clueless about this......

2. They are going to announce that there would be an election around the sometime too....
Very Happy

Consider this....

Even with the announcements about the conversion of paper license to e license... still many pple was not well informed....

If they think they can communicate this to all OPC owners in 1 month..... I really dun know WTFish they are thinking.......
