Re: Fuel Consumption
Just for info, when the fuel to emply distance less then 10km the amber light will light up. When distance less than 5km the red warning light will blick and display "Distance to emply tank"

Re: Fuel Consumption
i think the meter reading for fuel consumption is inaccurate.tried many time.same driving habi, same location, same traffic, same speed. But readig differs.best is calculate yourself.

Wow, you so good 10KM before empty then amber light lid up, my SX(A) 60KM before empty already amber light come out. Maybe something is worng for my fuel gauge.
Maybe need some re-calibration..

Re: Fuel Consumption
yeah.. mine too.. manuals says 50km.. Disc to empty - will blink.. and is critical already..
and my amber light on around 70km... come to think.. its no point highlighting with 10km remaining right? driver will not be able to do anything liao by then, (SG ok lar) but if you travel up north.(NSwh?)

Dear bros, sorry and correction. Is my typo error. Fuel to emply distance less then 100km the amber light will light up. When distance less than 50km the red warning light will blick and display "Distance to emply tank"
Short of one zero make alot of difference. bai sai.

Bros & Sistas,
Between Esso 5000 & Shell 95. Which one gives a better FC or is it
individual preference? Thanks.

Is 10 km/l ok for my 5 days old Forte?? Wat should be the expected FC??

daniu82 wrote:Is 10 km/l ok for my 5 days old Forte?? Wat should be the expected FC??
Y bother man, just drive the way u like ur forte to be driven. The range of FC is probably between 7km/L to 16km/L based on the posts on this forum so taking the average....10-12km/L should be about there lah.

Used to pump esso5000... now pump esso2000 and FC improved!

I also realised for my current ride, ron 92 works better most of the time giving better FC. But also might be psychological since you know the power not there, you also wont rev.

But would Esso2000 decrease the engine efficiency?
By the way, what is the difference recorded for this 2 type?

Re: Fuel Consumption
i beg to differ
used to pump spc95
then changed to spc92 and found fc improved slightly
and most amazingly more pulling torque!
thats what i experienced

Re: Fuel Consumption
there is a thread here somewhere that says higher octane does not means better fuel... i am convinced after reading the explanation...
In fact when i pump esso2000, I was more heavy footed... Psychologically, it is cheaper so jus step lah...

I have also changed to Esso 2000. Pay less to get better FC... why not?
Potatoes- Junior Member
Re: Fuel Consumption
I read this and have decided to stick to Esso 2000.

Re: Fuel Consumption
yeah... but pls dun go too hang up on FC... unless it really way off... 20L/100km, a lot of things are beyond our control (traffic, weather, unmodified right foot, too many pedestrian lanes) that affects our FC.... enjoy the ride and pump up the volume....

JuanST.... I agree with u. There r so many factors affecting FC.... If I buy Forte and worry about FC - it brings unnecessay stress .... just drive the way u like it as long as u r HAPPY.

Re: Fuel Consumption
from my view, forte n cerato FC is quite good 1, manual 1.6 wif 15inch rims will get at least 12-14kmL.
blackbird- Newbie
Re: Fuel Consumption
Think many of us just based on the meter readings which may not be accurate. Also for the first few K of driving the FC is usually not as good because of
1. Running in
2. We are not used to our car and FC suffers because of that
In anycase like most said dun worry too much unless it is way off.

Re: Fuel Consumption
actually, just my own opinion. If it is just 1/4 tank no point pumping also. Your savings at most is 5-8 bucks. Most of us have discounts tt made the cost of the petrol to ard 1.5-1.6 for ron 98 already. If you managed to squeeze full tank 47litres 27 bucks one tank of savings is subtantial. 1/4 tank would be ard 6 bucks with the potential queuing and "wasting" of idling engines may not be worth it.
Say so much, i'll still go lol cos my tank left 1/4 i think shld be near empty by tmrw already.

hi, bro..potatoes
if you must see these figures on your meter.. you can always reset avg FC during cruising... haaa.. you get 5.9also..! woo..
but i think so far this is the best!... haa
mine hovering on 7.6~8l /100 now.. odo at 4.8k... good?

Wah.... so fast u hit almost 5K liao and u only got ur ride in Aug. My ODO just touch 7K.
I would always reset all my metering (ie Avg FC, Trip A , Trip B, etc) when I pump full tank. I thought this is most accurate way of measurement of FC.
Bro Waypoint is really impressive. With only 2 marks to empty, he still have (Dist to empty)230km to go.... as for me, 230km Dist to Empty is only at Half way mark (4 marks to empty). Care to share how u do it?

Thats my dream FC !
Hope i can reach 600km for a full tank after my 6k servicing next week.
But dont think so, cos currently only can barely cross over 500km for a full tank.

Mine after changing the Rims...
From 10.5L/100km to 9.2L/100km...
But based on 30-40% city & 60-70% highway driving.
