Which type of IU did you get

Hi to all those who had collected their ride,

just to check which type of IU was installed in your ride? The new type or the old type?

i got the old one, was pretty pissed man....collected my ride last month.

wonder when will the new IU be install?

you gotton the old one too? dont want to waste 140 to replace a new one.

collected 1 week ago n get e old IU... new IU might be cum in nex month... but like other thingz, e first or pioneer batch highly chance got problem or error...

most probable not gonna pay $140 to change to e new IU... will wait for LTA to recall all e old IU n replace to e new one for FOC....

Ya ya.... Me too..... Wat for waste money..... Cash card is ok wah..... moreover has been using it "cashcard system" for so long liao..... so unless you the wanna let us change it FOC if not forget it.....

will get the old one unless ur car is registered on or after 1st july. my ride will be registered today if all goes well, so i'll also get the old one.

i think everyone here have the old 1.. sian.. maybe we should just wait for LTA so replace for free

collected my ride on tues, it's an old IU. also given a cash card cover with my se's name n mobile no. on it...

then ur SE must be "old bird"... i collected my car with the IU without any cover... why my SE so stingy...

Will LTA change the old IU with the new one for free?

Mine is the old one too. My SE say it's optional to change it to new one..must pay $150.

But on the other hand..i saw from LTA website that by october..all the EPS systems including ERP and carparks must use the new CEPAS cashcard..

mine came with the old IU too, with the IU cover with the SE's name imprinted.

Based on LTA's site we should all be getting the new IU, since it states "for new cars, taxis and other vehicles, will be introduced from early 2009." Isn't May early 2009?

my IU just failed on me..cannot believe the quality of the IU.Less than 1 week, spolit liao.need to go vicom and get replacement. any charges involved huh,anybody??

I read on another forum that IU has a 5 year warranty. So shouldnt have any charges, warranty still there. You might wanna try asking if you can get the new IU replaced instead. try luck and see.

Also it took the guy 30 mins to change it, so at least you have a rough idea how long it's gonna be.

thanks bro..I will ask them to change to new one if possible. Mine is OPC. Thus ,need to wait till next sat to get it change to save 20bucks. Where is the biggest Vicom so that the chance of getting new one is more likely hehe

No idea which one is the biggest, but you can take a look at http://www.vicom.com.sg/locations.asp to see which one you "like". Also they have a contact number there, if you like you can call them to ask if you need to bring anything else and the warranty details etc ... plus the info about the new IU cause I never changed my IU before.

I dunno why everyone is still receiving the old IU installed, by now it should be the new version.

got a new IU but not the lastest type IU. The vicom guy told me that it is not out yet in the market

if u guys want new iu, tamper it when new stocks come

Juz fyi ... i receive my ride on last sat 11-07-09 and i was given a new IU ( slim type those cash card slight in from below type ) i wonder it is those type you guys are talking about??

Juz wondering if those old type of IU cover, can it be fix onto the slim 1? thinking of getting 1 to cover it up..

If I not wrong, with new IU you still need to use cashcard for some time to come, because most carpark systems will not understand why got EZlink inside the IU.

If I am not wrong, it's applicable to those ERP style car parks where they are able to use the EZlink cards.

the IU i'm using is those slim type ... so does any 1 know where to buy the cover that can be able to fit into the slim IU? till now i din see any selling outside. does any 1 know where i can get it from??

I heard that some thieves target IUs with covers, I wun cover if I were you. Rather have no cover then no windscreen

wawhaha... true... but somehow sometimes i tents to 4get taking out my cashcard ...lol by letting it open to public ( confirm break windscreen ) i rather cover it up better.. ke ke..

but till now still din get to see any cover specially for that size de...

You guy don't forget, when we pass thru the custom, we have to insert the cash card not easylink card!!

Even the old one also took forever for the rest to implement...

Now... Many places still cannot use the new system.
