mine is 558km for full tank. every time i pump its e same lay...
how come its diff frm all of u?[/quote]
Driving pattern and terrain (city/highway) plays a big part too.
But your 558km for a full tank looks pretty good too.
Pumped 45+ litres ?

Anyone better than this? I thought this is simply superb!
Just can't understand how the meters work????
Thats my dream FC !
Hope i can reach 600km for a full tank after my 6k servicing next week.
But dont think so, cos currently only can barely cross over 500km for a full tank.
My highest is so far 480km for Full tank ..... It's also a dream for me if I ever cross the 600km mark!

Re: Fuel Consumption
i thought 550km should be quite standard? no? cos i travel mostly on highway.. full tank always something like tat. but real traveling mileage about or over slightly...
i am hovering on 7.6~8l/100km..mostly highway... pretty good i think..?

48.7 litres SHELL 95 done 625km.
My is EX 1.6 Auto done 14000km. Spec Full Tank @ 52 litres / 666km.
This may cover SIN-KL-SIN on a Full-Tank :
Spec Full Tank @ 52 litres + 8 liters Air Space = 60 litres

Wow newsman, how you pump one ?
I usually ask the pump attendant to auto-stop.
Did you pull back the 'gun' and pump some more slowly at a time ?
Or you really run untill very dry then can pump 48l ? I guess.

Re: Fuel Consumption
Pump slowly, slowly, slowly the last 10 litres, till the Liquid almost overflow.
This last 10 litres can take a good 3-5 mins of pump, stop,pump,stop....
So do it at deserted station...otherwise plles get in Q

not recommended to pump excessively. it can damage your engine as the pressure in the tank "migrants" to your engine. when the car is on motion, the fuel tank will be heated up, causing the petrol molecules to expand in size. you need at least a few litres worth of allowance for the petrol to expand. the optimal level will be the "click" sound that the sensor detects. don't pump anymore after that.

Every time when the pump icon light up, I can only drive another 18 to 20km. Then I pump my 2.0SX till can see petrol, total 55.58 litres. (more than the spec.) (1st "click" sound 47.8L plus stop, pump, stop another 7.78L)... so actually what is the max. litres the tank can swallow ? Assume car cannot move any more and can start.... If we know the max. then I can roughly calculate I can drive any xx km before car cannot move

Re: Fuel Consumption
I did 6.0l/100km = 16.67km/l based on meter reading from Pasir Ris car park to Woodlands car park.
I have changed to synthetic oil after 1k servicing.
Try to accelerate to above 80km/h or 90km/h and keep foot on pedal with the instance FC meter between 4l/100km and 6l/100km. If the meter drop to zero, you will need to accelerate up and this will mean you cannot achieve this liow.
I have not been able to measure the average FC yet, because always topping here and there.

i am still using mineral oil on my 5k servicing. FC is so-so.

In general after changing to syn, we can expect ard 1- 1.5km/l better FC compared to mineral.

Is it advisable to change to to syn oil for 1k servicing or stick with mineral oil ?

I think for 1k servicing, mineral oil will do coz you need to go for 5k. After that it depends. Either u go for next 5k or 10k. Personally I will stick to mineral for 1k and 5k. Thereafter will use syn. Any bros have other thoughts?

Re: Fuel Consumption
I just did 5k with mineral oil. So far still monitoring FC.
You guys mean if its mineral oil, next servicing should be plus another 5k ?
If synthetic oil, next servicing should be plus another 10k ?

Those who pump Shell.....
when they launch the fuel saver Shell, my car's fuel tank still had sufficient furl to last me, which was until this week... as always, my consumption is always showing 9.8 l/100km... then this week I filled up with the new petrol, travelled some distance and noted that consumption figure shown 7.8 l/100 km.... now it is averaging 8.2 l /100 km.... I don't know if it is really the new petrol from shell or what...
any of you have the same results? a fall in consumption maybe because of the new petrol... they have been advertising about savings of about 1 litre per tank full...

ok, my car is a SX auto.... I am always having 9.8 to 10.2, I don't care much about consumption anyways as I am heavy foot, always firts off the line when the green lights come on.....
so, I was rather surprised when the meter showed 7.8 to 8.2 after using the new Shell.... my driving patterns have not changed the last two days...

Same. Mine is also the SX auto. normally getting as per what kap is getting. After servicing on last week, Shell fuel gave me 8.9 to 9.2 km . As to verify due to servicing or the new shell fuel is giving me this good FC, i just went to pump Esso 95 , after running 130km, the sign is showing me 10.4. Thus , i will conclude that the new shell fuell is . I will pump shell in the future.

Just finished my V-Power and am on Caltex 98 Techron.
I'm already noticing that the car has more power now. Ride seems smoother also. Maybe that's the reason Caltex's petrol are more expensive.

i cannot really tell if got diff in power.... the only thing i notice is i finish the full tank of 98/v-power faster than i finish a full tank of 92... and the latter have a better mileage of around 20km (i think).

Shell V-Power = $2.019/l
Caltex 98 Techron = $1.860/l
The shell max discount is 9.8%
Caltex max discount is 12%
How can Caltex's be more expensive?

bro u very rich ley, how much full tank of V-Power?
i think our forte wont feel significant difference between V-Power and 98

maybe they didnt do anything. Just add in 1 litres for ever 50 litres progressivesly.
That's mean you get 51 litres for 50 litres pump.
Think about it... how did they flush all tank before overnight in all the petrol kiosk. Twig the pump meter only take a few seconds.

No la.. 1/2 tank of Vpower cause the car came with 1/2 tank of petrol already. The day that i pumped got discount. Same price for Vpower and 98..

i thought u havent woke up at that time of posting.
hahahahahaha....
but bro crazyfox. i think its not likely that they only tweak the meter, cos the petrol has been available a while ago before its was on promo. maybe they just have to add additive to their storage tank after they fill up the station
