Center Console LCD spoil

Hi guys,

today while on the road, listening to FM radio, the screen suddenly went dead.
Not totally... but lets say u divide the screen into 4. 3/4 of the screen went off.
The aircon display is ok though...

Just called my SE. Need to send in car to let them investigate...

and i nv on the light full one. the switch is like half way only.
cos i dun like bright bright so i dimmed it down...
dun tell me its becos of this dimming it "burn" off

den i should start to worry about my car interior console also le.. my work place is parked under hot and sunny sun... until the 3M tape for my IU unit is melt >.<

most probably have to change the lcd screen. suspect its the lcd diodes that has malfunctioned

I think C&C technician not so electronically skilled , most probably they will change the whole audio unit. No individual part fort the LCD either.

they have a tendency to scratch the interior when they take apart something. this you have to take note

our warranty for audio unit is for one year only, correct ?

btw there is no paint for the sliver colour the colour beside the LCD?

ok noted... but why leather seats? u mean they will sit, shift ard and probably tear the leather?

my ride coming to 1 yr in 3+ months time.....

if need to replace the whole unit after warranty....wonder how much will it cost..

If no more warranty and quite expensive to replace then can consider install those 2 din touch screen LCD console.

i think i going to come into a situation whereby my SE will say "no spare parts..."

i've got a gut feel this will come...

its higly possible...i change the glove compartment before also no stock gona wait 1-2weeks(i tink)...then they send u letter inform u parts arrived liao...

sianz man
cannot see volume
cannot see which FM channel
cannot see MP3 file etc

part and parcel of owning a forte.

Ya u nvr know, just in case their screwdriver or something sharp scratch ur leather seats. Better to be safe.

If no more warranty and quite expensive to replace then can consider install those 2 din touch screen LCD console.

but if the original AU is replaced by the after market type of AU....the AU control on the steering will no longer be able to function....

but some bros suggest that some HU can allow it to work

from what i seen thru the pic.. it is the player defect.. just send in for replacement and C&C will try to delay it because there's no stock for this player in singapore so need to wait for them to ship from korea.

if the screen have visible ink merge mark, then they will claim u spoilt it.. but if it doesnt, means it's factory defect.. so dont worry too much.. u will get yours replaced =)

yah... its a 3wks wait... my SE told me...
