Handbrake verification/issue Empty Handbrake verification/issue

Post by ericsoon72 7th October 2009, 12:41 am

Just collected my car today...

felt that the handbrake is kinda weird, probably im not used to it. it seems a bit loose...need to pull up all the way (until it is real tight), otherwise car will roll even on gentle slope..

anyone got their handbrake fix or re-align during 1k or 5k servicing?

My handbrake is also very loose when it is released. Have to pull up high to make sure the brake is biting.

So you mean that we can just drop by and they can just tighten up FOC?

Think hand brake loose is to cater for better Drifting...

Don't worry bros, this is one of the common problem. During the 1k servicing just tell them your handbrake is too high and loose. They will kinow what to do.
Did mine also during the 1K servicing.

But will it roll downward or not? worry parking on slope will hit behind car.

I suppose if you have your handbrake problem rectify during serving, this shouldn't be a problem.

For auto car whether is park at up or down slope is still in P position with handbrake applied.

Noted: If slope too steep auto car will also roll backward.

Parking on a slope requires you to turn the front wheels inwards toward the kerb just in case the car roll forward or backward....

I thought this was covered in the highway code? Handbrake verification/issue 256379

nah....

You will get the burnt metal smell...that's all.

I once drove about 25km from my workplace to home with the handbrake on....noticed the car was sluggish but didn't notice the handbrake was on but still sped on the highway....

Felt like a super goondu when I realised what happened....sheeeeeh....

Think overheated the break let it cool down and test your hand break to see if still working

Very soon you will need to change your brake pad.
