Steering Alignment off?? Empty Steering Alignment off??

Post by joepele 15th September 2009, 10:40 am

I think some of the bros here have the same problem too.

I drive an SX auto.

The steering seems to be veering towards to the left.

Anyone else have this problem?

How do you resolve this?

Holding it straight seems to be quite straining to the arms @ long distances.

ya mi too facing this problem and has inform C&C at my 1k service but they say that they do liao syaing that the problem might be due to our tyres so they pump the air and do something to our tyres.. but somehow when i collect my car i ask the service personal to test drive with mi and from there i point out the problem is still there so they say ooh his technical staff has do it already mayb din check properly so ask me to highlight it again on 5k service.. so bro make sure u request them to ask the service techanical staff to go test drive with you when you go collect your car from there they have no one to push to.

I have the same problem, told them during my 1k and 5k servicing still the same. But the car will just bank into the left slightly so will get used to it.

Steering Alignment off?? Empty Re: Steering Alignment off??

Ok everyone, this is a common issue. What i did was, i asked the mechanic to test drive my vehicle and make sure he knows that it is definitely out. I requested that the 3rd time i went back due to this issue. And now it is good.

What did he do??

Adjust the alignment?

Coz if it's as simple as that, I'll do it elsewhere and save the hassle.

If that is the case, I'd rather go to JB and get it done right there and then than to take C&C's BS and ping pong attitude.

Steering Alignment off?? Empty Re: Steering Alignment off??

Post by dipstick 16th September 2009, 2:36 pm

This may be a natural occurrence on some roads since most road surfaces
are deliberately sloped to the near (left) side to allow for drainage.
Hence, the amount of pull to the left will depend on the incline of the road surface.
As the tires wear down with use, they will adjust to the road camber and the problem may just resolve itself.

You may want to test this theory by driving on various road surfaces to
see if the amount of pull toward the left varies. If it does, you can be
reassured that the veering of your vehicle is due to the road surface,
rather than the condition of your vehicle.

Another thing to do to confirm that the car's alignment is not out is to drive on a flat and level road (one that has no camber to the either side) and see if the car still pulls to the left.

I tot alignment shld be one of the menu in a servicing. Look at your service menu and see if it is part of what they do. If so ask back how come like tt.

In the first place... if can convince them that there is a problem first... which is the biggest problem.

Hearing for the bros here...

I'm kinda skeptical about C&C's servicing.

I'm quite short tempered when it comes to these things... I'd rather pay a little more for getter service, saving time and lesser BS.

mine tends to left bank too... hopefully can be resolved during the 1st servicing.

My previous car encountered too... but after alignment ok liao...

seems like it may be due to road surface?

Post by ck7373 17th September 2009, 1:24 am

during 1k service, told them about the steering to left problem and they said it is due to road condition and the tech guy checked during road test seem to be ok. So nothing was done then.

during 5k service, i insisted for wheel alighnment and they did for me. The result seem to be good when i drive on the usual road but still got abit and that maybe be really due to road condition.

And I tht I was the only one facing this problem. Constantly have to correct it to the right. Proof: Right hand more tired. Lol. But really can feel the pull towards the left side. Shall highlight this during 1k servicing too.
