Re: Fuel Consumption
Fuel consumption, well what better then to post a picture of the reading....
Taken this morning after I did a reset before driving.... took the PIE, exit Eunos, stop at Tanjong Katong Sec, then off to the ECP and finally stop at Harbour Front and took this picture.
Before reset, reading was 10.5L/100km....
Mine is a 1.6 SeXy (A).

i start work quite early.. so not much traffic on e highway.. once hit highway can drive all e way(from jurong to changi) without braking..
my knock off timing also just nice can avoid e evening jam..
i seldom rev above 3000rpm n try to keep my right foot light too..
btw my aircon temp is set at 22 - 23 deg(cold enough for me)..

Re: Fuel Consumption
But if ur car didnt rev to mid-high range before also not good. some time must give short burst or rev and some time constant mid range rev n slowly climb up to high range. Give ur new engine some light seasoning up down left right and it should give u problem in the long run

really.. mayb next tank i try 98...
i got a friend who pump V-Power n claim it give more milage than 98..

v power should evaporate faster but really give u more power. so i think it should give a poor mileage. I base on my bike's theory

woot!!! The fuel consumption for this car is really good so far for me.. The best avg reading tt i got was 7.2l/100km.. I used Formula 98 and it lasted until I reached Sunway Pyramid on Day 2 - including making several rounds in Malacca (while trying to locate Jonkers Walk) and Port Dickson on Day 1.

Re: Fuel Consumption
LOL!! i noticed got quite a lot of SG drivers beo my car while there are also some cocky ones (mostly merc & bmw drivers, a few toyota drivers oso) tried to make my car's performance look bad.. chey!! they neber noe tt i'm doing running in, otherwise would hv gone at an even higher speed. but den when i reached my family's apt in Port Dickson, all the security guards start to "drool"..
however i noticed something.. when my speed is ard 130km/hr and did a sudden brake, the car doesn't seemed to be able to pick up speed on a slight slope and maintained @ 100km/hr until the car reached a flat ground or down-slope. No matter how much i step on the accelerator, it juz refused to pick up speed leh.. I released and stepped on the accelerator, it didn't really help oso..
Not sure if this is normal leh..

Re: Fuel Consumption
I guess it applies to all 1.6L auto. One way you can do is switch to steptronic if you find that you can't climb the slope and you will feel the difference.

hiak hiak hiak!! thanks bro!! okie.. so it's not a big problem so far.. oopss.. i posted a similar one in the problems thread.. btw, the steptronic is the one that i shift my gear to the extreme left up & left down ah? hahaha.. a bit blur on watz dat for..
will try dat again going up the slope on the ECP area near Suntec going towards East Coast Park.. there's this steep slope where i oso notice tt the car like kenna tio stuck..

Err... if you duno watz that then you leave it Yes, the "+" "-" is your steptronic and act like manual for you to chiong But dandeana pls remember to look at your rpm when you using steptronic to chiong. Make sure you don't over shoot the red line or we say bye bye to your precious

Re: Fuel Consumption
When u do redline at gear 4 u prolly be like 170-180km/h liao..so I think should be quite safe.

Obviously your car did not down shift gear to pick up speed... gradually stepping on the accelerator will not do anything as the auto gear will stay on fourth gear. What must be done is to release on the accelerator, then step hard on it.... you should then feel the gear downshift and speed picking up. Otherwise, shift gear to left and down.... then step on accelerator.

ooohhhh!!! okie... point noted.. me will try dat when i go up to m'sia again. oni the highway there can give me more opportunties to do this.. over here, the chances of rammiing will be higher... ha.. thanks bro!!!

Re: Fuel Consumption
I prefer not to use the steptronic often, coz i dont really focus on the rpm. I'm also not sure of kia's history of their auto gear box. I know honda jazz has alot of issue with auto gearbox.
I think the steptronic is really useful in places where there is steep slops like up n down genting. That is for sure i'll use.

After reading all the answers, it seems that the fuel consumption of Forte is around 10-11KM/L... Quite a standard for a 1600cc car...

Thout most of the calculation got around 12km/ litres .
100 / 8.5 = 11.76
100 / 7.9 = 12.6
I would say above average..
