Re: Fuel Consumption
220 is when your tires are cold.
250 is when your tires are hot(2km distance drive)
so if you pump 220 when your tires are hot, they'll be around 200-205 when cold.

Your windscreen crack happened while in genting? OMG!
anyone could advise is this a batch problem or what.. crack locally is already bad.. if while we drive up will be horrible man..

Re: Fuel Consumption
Cracked by itself when left overnight in open space car park (coldest temp abt 13 deg C).loveforte wrote:maybe hit by some local ah beng and ah seng???
Not a single sign of impact, dent nor scratch mark on windscreen/frame.
Crackline originate from windscreen frame structure (A - beam) propagating inwards into a L-shape crackline
Starting point of crackline very similar to previous pics shown
Based on crackline characteristics, my guess is a structural stress induced crack. Temperature may be a contributing factor.
Based on what I'd found out, Forte windscreen is laminated type (multi-layer).
When subjecting different layer of lamination to different temp, differential thermal expansion/contraction can induce longitudinal/lateral stress. This is especially so when crackline originate from a curvature area.
If I'm the KIA engineer investigating into this matter, I'll install a few strain gauges (measuring up to micron level) at windscreen frame & its surrounding vicinity.
Thereafter, subject the windscreen exterior to different temp range (10-40 deg C).
Meantime, will subject interior cabin temp to different temp range (i.e. maintaining a temp differential of 10-30 deg C between interior/exterior).
Another experiment will be to run the engine for 2-4 hrs till it's hot & repeat above experiment again. This will cause engine compartment area to be hot (thermal expansion) which may also contribute to the overall windscreen framework structural stress level.
Should the thermal induced stress level exceeds existing windscreen tolerable stress limits, it will likely crack in a laboratory environment.
IMHO, this issue has the potential to develop into a batch recall issue. More so when there's car which had twice reported the same problem.

Coz i everday pass by the bedok exit they have a speed reader there by lta so far quite accurate.

Wow.. think this is worrying.. but at least good to know its a multilayered windscreen..
but good analysis sharing bro..

today, my 1.6 SX(A) did a 6.5l/100KM.
Best i have done so far.
Total run 19km.
about 30% city and 70% expressway. Its PIE which on the average i drive 80km to 90km/h only. Thats equvilant to 15.38km/l.
Think driving slow really use up less petrol for me too. Further more I am carrying slightly more than 3/4 tank.

The + - is electrical manual mode, if u can change gear in lower RPM than the AUTO mode change gear, u safe more petrol loh.
Petrol used depends on the RPM for end user who sits in the car to drive.
LOW RPM = save petrol in most cases...
