cushion and carbo fibre cover for the haandle
kapitan wrote:Wanted to show new mod done today.... diy myself... quite simple job, and give you a luxurious feel to the handle. btw, the top surface is soft cushion. wanted to do this when I sat in a BMW in Germany.....
it may look like carbon fibre, but no, it is leather. bought the material, which is leather sticker from Autobacs, the cushion bought in Spotlight......
only had time today to do the driver's door, will complete all when I return next week. will also post in DIY section step by step of how to remove door and remove handles.... in fact everything can be removed, I mean the door hand, including the silver section. it is held together by screws....
Hi, can you advise me where to find the top surface cushion for the door? where is spotlight? can advise us on how to DIY?

added interior lights
spent the whole afternoon adding lights to the footwell and the space in front of the gear stick.... all diy....
light for iPod space is controlled from switch of driver side map light, while foot well is controlled with a separate switch.... power tap from map lights....
cost of lights and switch , $70..... got two more strips of LED lights, suppose to fit onto interior fron door handles... but lazy... tired after all the work... maybe next week....

another tiring day, went to autobacs, saw some single LED lights, fitted to resistor too.... aiyah buy lah, I know where I wanted those to be at... then saw a switchboard, one live in, 4 switches, so utilise one switch for what I had fitted... eft with three switches, which I will use later.....
so... look, a lighted Garson angola.....
look better live then in picture....
the switches....
Lighted Garson Angola....
with centre console light on at same time....
looking from outside....

Hi bro Kapi how come our Kia Forte becomes associates of the China KingLong Bus manufacture
with the same logo on your ride. Or rather China KingLong bought over Kia Korea, HaHaHa

Reminds me of the story about USA and Russia solving the problem about writing in space...
Where USA spent million on technologically advanced solutions for writing...
Russia solved it by using....

The shark fin will not fit if you use it as it come in.....
The plastic plate securing the rubber to the fin got to be removed.... the front cut about 1 com forward.... then the sides cut away..... screw back the two pieces, yes, cutting away the side will leave the front and back pieces....
use two layers of 3M double sided tape to stick on the roof, over the stock antannae mounting.... with the front cut, you can align the fin to the top edge of the back windscreen.....
but I feel it is not sticking nicely still, a small gap is still there,... need to sand down the side edges to get a good fit...

actually you dont need to apply anymore..cause I have apply 2 color coat afraid if just 1 layer will be too light color for your car...
then I also apply the clear coat using air spay one....

I dont think any double side tape will work.. cause I go find those heat resistant from 3M and even stronger hold then those normal 3m car use one...
end up still the same..
The only way is to silicon it...which I'm planning to do it tonite...
