Thermal guard does contain metallic compounds tats y u c the rainbow colours. Its perfectly normal. If the solar film failed LTA inspection, jus go back to thermal guard as they guarantee passed LTA.

Post by waypoint 6th July 2009, 12:41 am

IIRC, the ONLY solar film with any inherent metallic elements at all is V-Kool premium line of solar films... Expensive but highly effective. As many have mentioned before, it's so damned good, it blocks out GPS and ERP signals and you'd have to accept having to cut a small hole for the IU. Also, why it's not recommended sometimes is because over time; about 2-3 years, the edges of the applied film tend to age and yellow but will not peel.

I'm not sure how good is rikecool given by C&C. I am at rikecool, I am there to change the file with bubbles, complain abit about the rainbow effect, the boss David actually took the troublem to come down to explain to me the effect, its the latest film and it cuts down alot of UV and reject heat, there was a experiment to show prove too. He show me various gradf of file he has and the one he use for the back was very good.

If u guys are ok with rikecool, can look for David directly, knowing he dont earn from rapairing but still guide me thru his products, no need quote my name coz this is just a feedback from a satisfy customer.

BTW, i dont know about other film spec ah, i just commenting on rikecool thats all.

Did any Forte bros top-up to get the 3M Crystalline Solar Film?
How much was the top-up amount?

If no top-up, how much was off-set (deducted)? 50%?

Seriously considering to get the 3M one.

my SE offer me thermalGuard for 300 bucks , the package was 500 bucks.

rejected and went to infratint to did it , got the 400 platinum package,
service and workmanship is tip top.
boss is friendly and really go into small detail like going ard checking any bubble and asking them to redo.

my front got bubble and boss told his worker to tear and do again.

Koup - front clear
- side and back uniform colour - 60 % heat rejection , 99 UV , reflective 25% , 30% tint IIRC.

better to check with SE what grade of Rikecool film that you are getting ? If it is the low grade film premier 25 or 28 (only 30% IR rej) then either you can top-up to upgrade to higher grade film (higher % IR rej ) or get rebate then do outside CnC..... Solar Film - Page 5 Icon_biggrin

If I'm not wrong, you may discuss with yr SE to do the tinting outside yourself. They will pay the solar film vendor around S$100+ for value below S$200 (basic package). Any higher package, you will need to top up the balance yourself. They have contact with InfraTint on this arrangement as well.
