CNC given to us is Premier 28 which you can view it at http://www.rikecool.com.sg/premier28.htm

based on what I know is SE cannot quote you solar film with lousier quality in rikecool cause they have contract with rikecool on the certain range. But how reliable or good is this rikecool i wont dare to comment much.. use it and we'll know it.

Can try Cool N Lite, should be cheaper than Vkool. Quality for both should be the same.

mine fitted with Premier 28 or 25 ( what ever they want to call it - freebie by SE). after only 10 mins on the road and can feel heat emitting from dash board already......if you are paying for it better go for some other brand (as suggested by bro nywa78) and if SE offer you this freebie then i suggest you exchange it for something else....

Bro graysgerald79, thanks for the info.

after reading, I learnt that it is not just about the brand but it is rather the specification of the products that one has chosen within the brand.......

wat that is fitted on my car now i guess must be the type with only UV protection with min or even without any heat rejection. Colour tinted to give a fashionable look to your car.......probably a low end / low spec Rike cool products...

My SE on the paper put now rike cool worth $1050. But end of the day does it really cost $1050 who know. Anyway my friend also been telling me rike cool suck and it is as good as having nothing. And advise me to go for vkool instead which is 100% proven.

So maybe for those of us given rikecool and after driving for something and really find rikecool suck. We may organise a mass order for vkool instead.

Basically in rikecool website, for 1.6 n below, premier 28 or 63 retail at $900...under these 2, both are using same premier 85 for the front section, be it u get the premier 28 or 63..only difference is at the rear, P28 is darker at the rear compared to P63 rear....

yes.. because V-cool got some issues with Rf transmitting.. a car using fully v-cool will have mobile phone signal drops, GPS takes longer time to pair or at times drop signal. If you having internal radio antenna then frequency will be affected also.

This is the purposes why pple install v-kool need to cut IU area because the ERP cant detect the IU.

Cool n Lite no need to cut hole for IU, no issue with the heat in my bro's mpv. He chose those silver reflective colour which gave his car a euro feel. I think he did the top range at 700+(4yrs ago), now I think second highest range. Downside is only 7yrs warranty instead of 10yrs given by the rest of the competitors.

Rikecool of course wanna earn more by selling their top end product. It's not Rikecool's call, Its C&C that wanna save up to make fatter profit.

Anyway, with the DIY air-con mod that our fellow members recommended, I don't think the any film would be an issue

jus to share.. for brand wise, i thk Rikecool may not be the best in the market but i suspose it shd be better than those "never-heard-of" brands.. i did the simple experiment in the show room and can confirm that Rikecool tint definitely works and can cut-off the heat..

I used to do those cheap tinting for $200- $300 only.. ok during the warranty period but after 3 yrs the flim kinda slowly "melting" away liao.. so my advice is not to go for cheap one lor..

Lastly, in Sg weather condition, no matter wat solid kinda tint u put up.. ur car still heat up after say 15 mins under e hot sun.. cos not forgetting large amount of heat still transmitted thr the metal parts i.e. roof, doors etc.. =)

I think Tintsycool is having promotion at the moment, and they have so far received pretty good ratings in sgcarmart.com. Their nano-ceramic solar films are worth exploring especially for folks who are excited about heat refraction and without burning a hole in their pockets, about 450+. My thoughts.

info on the nano-ceramic films which I am talking about:

http://www.socnb.com/product/hproduct_e/ad_raybarrier_e.html

It's a product of Sumitomo Osaka Cement. Sumitomo used to sell their products in SG, and my mechanic has personally recommended the film which he put in his VIOS for 800++ 4 years back.

The 3 popular brands huper optik, vkool and 3m, but $$$.
There are few other popular solar films (in mcf) like tintmaster, tintsycool, and infratint, that offers equally good infrared & ultraviolet rejection w/o burning a hole in your wallet.
I think tintmaster and tintsycool are having promotion now.

Actually the test-kit at the showroom is flawed.

What they are doing now is to shine the light on your bare hands - which you will feel the warmth, and then put the glass (with the film) between your hands and the light to illustrate the effect. But you will never know if the heat is actually dissipated by the thick piece of glass itself alone? or did the layer of rikecool solar film actually made the difference?

What they should have done with the test kit is to shine the light across the glass and have you feel the heat, and then
insert the layer of rikecool to test if there is indeed a difference?

In any case, the film used in the test kit may not be the entry-level film offered, so always do your homework before committing.

Could it be possible that rikecool 25 is actually rikecool 28? Someone either in this forum or in sgkia was actually told by rikecool that his warranty in their database is stated as rikecool 28. Maybe it's referred to as rikecool 25 because of a special arrangement/contract to install it in the Forte......... OTOH, it may just be a cheapo version of rikecool. This is such a mystery and it would be wonderful if anyone can unravel it.

Does anyone notice that when looking through the rear windscreen using the rearview mirror, the view looks a bit hazy like as if it's a hazy day?
