EPS light on

Anyone had their EPS indicator activated while parking in the car with aircon /engine running? Tried to drive forward and the steering is very hard to steer. Only after switch off and on the engine again, everything went back normal.

Go get it checked... It doesn't sound right.

Hey Duser, helping my fren to post this.. yesterday my fren's 1.6 SX (A) sounded like got the same problem too.. his wife drove off from the carpark lot and felt that the steering wheel is locked (i suspect it's lost of electric power steering) and quickly stop and reverse back.. cos got car coming.. den my fren tried turning.. oso said very heavy and he uses the word "locked" oso.. (i dun think its locked just tat they got used of the super light steering already) its only after turning off the engine and on again, den back to normal..

Anyway, i just wanna knw do u still encounter this problem? or did u report this to C&C during servicing? it's kinda freaking.. imagine this happens while u driving on the road! FYI, im drving a 2L S (A) so far so good.. no major issues..

Anyone got issues with the electric power steering too?

This sounds like a very serious issue.

It can be very dangerous if the EPS light comes on while you are cruising down the expressway. Get it checked/rectified asap.

Thanks guys! my fren is going to send in for servicing tonight and get it check... seems like no one else having this problem... wonder if Duser got his car rectify...

HI there.Thanks for the headsup. Since the one off eps issue I did monitor the car while driving and parking and had since no such problem. However as my 1K servicing will be coming soon I will check it out with C&C. What your fren mention is true. The steering does feel its really locked and heavy(when u tried to turn). I have driven manual before and can feel the difference. Do let me know if there are any other updates.

update.. my fren said they will have to replace a component for the EPS.. but gotto go back again cos they dun have the parts.. need to order from korea.. so he will go back again to do tat.. as well as the bushing for knocking sound...
