Beware of "water goods" tyres Empty Beware of "water goods" tyres

Post by melburn 1st June 2009, 12:40 am

Hi all just a piece of info from my frd who owns a tyre shop.

It seems that there has been a batch of "water goods" tyres that are distributed in sg, be careful when you change tyres especially when they offer u below mkt price.

Do ask about the warranty and if possible get prove of the production and batch of tyres.

Side effects of "water goods" tyres :

  1. As these tyres do not passed the factory QC therefore they were supposed to be disposed, therefore no warranty can be found for these tyres.
  2. Tyres tend to chip off after few weeks of using
  3. Signs of bumps on tyres or tyres go abit out of shape after few weeks of using
There has been a few cases where ppl changed tyres from elsewhere and found out that they gt "water goods" tyres, 1 way is to chk the side walls as "water goods" tyres tend to be softer than original tyres.

Hope this helps.

Wink
