How do you test? Did you bring your key along when you tried to test if it's along? Or did you put your remote far away so that it did not sense it and unlock again?

after I off the engine, I closed the doors and walked away from the car, keeping the doors unlock. I went back to the car 5 min later, but the doors did not lock itself automatically

But when you went back to your car, is your keyless remote with you? cos if its with you of cos it will detect it and auto unlock again.

yes, the remote was with me when I went back. But I know the doors did not lock themselves becos I was able to open without pressing the block button at the door handle. Anyway I shall test without the remote and see how

Let us know after you have tested. I have gotten used to the keyless entry and forgotten to lock the car today, but when I realised, I locked it at a distant using the remote so not yet test if auto locking is possible.
However, I doubt very much as the car manual did not indicate that.

One thing for sure, if you have not off your car completely, the car will auto off to prevent the car battery to be discharged after a while when the smart key is not present in the car as per the manual.

Well to me, keyless entry should perform like this:
- car should auto-unlock when owner is about 5-10m away
- car should auto-lock when owner is about 5-10m away

What you described does not sound 'keyless'. Better check with your SE.
Well, unless your SE want to play with dictionary......keyless entry = no need key to enter (which is true to what you are experiencing)

But i thought most alarms in the market no need physical key to lock/unlock doors ???? Can the doors lock automatically? Icon_eek

Well, i would agree with this but my keyless entry doesn't really lock my car automatically too when i am walking away from the vehicle. Kia is using alot of ' big word' like ' silent alarm' , 'immobiliser' , 'keyless entry' which gives more confusion sometimes that their real function.
