Forte2010, does your ride comes with 'free' alarm by SE ?
If it does, your SE should have explained to you on all this.
For my EX, the button is somewhere beside the right shin when you rest the leg in the car.

If your car doesnt comes with 'free' alarm, then there will be no button.

You may want to double check with your SE on this too.

Cheers.

If there's alarm installed by the SE. There will be two black switch near the accelerator (depends on yr brand of alarm). The one nearer to the door is the alarm reset switch. Press on tat should yr alarm goes off. The SE should have passed you an instruction manual if your ride comes with it. Try looking for it in your receiver booklet.

I find it funny that the alarm reset switch can be so easily accessible. A season thief can easily break-in and off the alarm within 5 seconds, and that will render the alarm useless. What is this button for ? Icon_rolleyes

Tht's why it should be hidden. I stick it somewhere rather then beside the bonnet handle. It's wire is very long one.

To deactivate my EX alarm...the key needs to be inserted and turned to ignition before depressing the reset switch (this steps varies with different type of alarm, better to check with yr SE)....depressing the switch alone will not deactivate the alarm.....

I m using the flip key type of remote...... on a few occasions while turning it to crank the engine, my finger inadvertently depressed the 'Arm' button on the remote and triggered the alarm in the carpark....when that happened it is quite inconvenience to quickly bend forward to reach out and feel the reset switch (located near the accelerator)...and if you have a beer belly like mine ....you'll appreciate easy accessibility to the switch What is this button for ?
