Forte wins a Car of The Year
Forte wins a Car of The Year award in the US
The Kia Forte has picked up a Car of the Year gong in the US, in this case from NADAguides, a US-based vehicle information website.
The vehicle was chosen ahead of eight other vehicles for the title, which was presented at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. The Forte was also the website's Car of The Month in August.
Closer to home, the Forte, which was launched by Naza Kia in November, has been receiving a positive response from Malaysian consumers.
More than 600 orders have been taken for both the 1.6l variants, the entry level EX and higher spec SX, as well as the 2.0l SX, as of this week.
It's easy to see why the car's doing well - there's a fair bit of car and kit for the money.
The EX features dual airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), 15-inch wheels, active headrests, electronic chromic mirrors and a radio/CD player with USB iPod connectivity, all for RM75,800 (S$31,000).
Of course, and additional six grand bags you the SX, which has more on the items list.
There's an electronic stability control package which comprises electronic brake-force distribution, cornering brake control, brake assist system and traction control system in addition to ABS, and the variant comes with 17-inch alloys, a six-CD changer with iPod connectivity, an iPod cable, UV cut glass, push start ignition, smart key system and full auto air-conditioning system.
