5 YEARS FACTORY WARRANTY FOR SEP 2009 BATCH

I booked in Aug and collected my Forte last week (13 Nov 2009) . I was lucky because the SE said that my car production date is in Sep and all Sep batch comes with 5 years factory warranty. Although the warranty booked indicated 3 years but the SE said that it's is confirmed as 5 years in their computer systems because the booklets are old one.

hmmm i booked in Aug but collected on Oct... have to call SE and ask liao...

I think you have to double check with your SE the factory manufacture date of your care because you collected in Oct and this 5 years factory warranty is quite a new promotion.

Effectively that will equate to you having to go back to them for another 2 years. Dealers not only earn from sales but servicing. Like impact said, servicing free is the major one. Nonetheless, the 5yr warranty is nice to have.

at 3rd yr selling ur car, can still say car still have warranty for another 2 yrs.

what's the point of it if they can / are going to void the warranty if

1. You dun do your servicing @ C&C
2. If you were to make any mods
e.g.
Air Filter, Lights, ICE?? Not sure abt the rims...
3. Does not include wear and tear parts...
*Wear and Tear parts vs Defective Wear and Tear items are different things all together.

According to the newspaper ad and new brochures, the 5 year warrantly is transferable when you sell the
car. That's why they mentioned that their KIA car has resale value. Anyway, if have additional free
2 year warranty is better than nothing because it covers the parts which may start to wear out upon reaching
5 years.

call and check with my SE no have leh ,,,, i collected my car in oct ... not qualify for it

indicated my car comes with MDP (multi disc player). When I rcvd my car, it comes with single disc
player. There's nothing you can do even if it's in black and white. They said that Sep batch only come with single
disc player.

Now I am worried. You mean the 6 disc changer become only single? I too book in August and still waiting for my car SX(m). Agreement is only one paper long and only state comes with standard features. So you accepted it w/o any argument ?

Huh? mine don't have leh? Just one page photocopied front. You mean got 2 pages ? My 1st page never have what you mentioned. Confusing this whole deal I got myself into very tired of the whole episode.

How's your disc display panel, got it fix?

In fact, they did not highlight to me about this thing when I made final payment. Only I have signed the docs and
when I reached home to read again, it mentioned something like "NO MDP for Sep". I called my SE and he said
MDP means Multi Disc Player. So my car comes with only single disc play although on the CD Player, it's physically
indicated with the logo "6 Disc Player" . So strange. Btw, is their any price difference btwn single disc and
multi disc player. I do not argue lah because they said Sep batch onward all single disc player.

whats new... my EX version doesnt comes with engine temp guage even thou it was an basic feature indicated in their broucher. After exchanging emails with their aftersales department, they indicated that there was no solution to this prob and use "specification may vary without notice" to put me off, instead of raising this issue to KIA korea for solutions.

Hmm.... this is not good. I'm waiting for my car as well. My SE went thro the features with me but never mentioned about missing MDP....

EX only comes with a blue/red indicator for engine temp. since day one it was launched in Sillypore.

By right, eng temp guage should be a std feature to come with all cars, unless designed otherwise. For the case of forte, there seems to be a double std whereby only the expensive version of the car is equiped with this guage and not the cheaper version. The broucher also did not indicate explicitly that this feature is not availiable in the Ex version. So what bothers me is the inconsistancies in the msg sent pertaining the importance of the temp guage, which according to experience is important as it affects safety and performance of the car (according to C&C, warranty shall be void if damage of engine is found to be due to overheating)

I thought temp gauge is one of the most important safety device that may save
your life . Without the temp gauge, how on earth would you know that your car
is in danger of overheated and may catch fire and may cause a chain collision
on the road and endanger other people's lives. I think the LTA should make it
compulsory that all vehicles must be fitted with this device. How can they overlook
such important thing.

tranferable means nothing if the 1st owner never do their servicing at CNC.

Some more their servicing is damn expensive!! i stop going to CNC after my 3rd Servicing..

how much is the 10 km servicing ???

Precisely......however, they indicated that nothing can be done to the current design and they are not able to influence subsequent batches of stocks as they are a small player....
