Re: LTA's random check at carpark
Usually they won't trust. They will still flip up the cover & see. Best is cut out the area where your plate is & DIY a clear sheet at the cut area to display the plate will do.

Re: LTA's random check at carpark
Put cover maybe the more they will want to flip open to see.

Re: LTA's random check at carpark
If I am not mistaken, LTA has no autority in private properties. Police can go into private properties with a warrant but I doubt LTA has even got that right.
Very simple. Like 1 of the threads here said, those who no license also can own a car if they can afford it. They have committed no offence. Just that they cant drive it thats all. So if I got no license, I wanna buy a car and put at home, dun think there is a crime in that. :-)
Actually, I think LTA should not have the right to fine cars in carparks cos most of the carparks in spore are not under LTA. They are either privately owned, under HDB or NEA or NPArks, or one of the Ministries. :-)
Maybe MRT station carparks under LTA. Not sure. But think should be under SMRT. :-)
Any lawyers in this forum?? Or anyone well versed in local spore laws?? :-)
Maybe can go check it out?? :-)

Re: LTA's random check at carpark
HDB carparks are 'designated' public places where anyone can come and go as they like. Unless stated otherwise.
Whereas, places like private property, well are private places. Government officials cant come and go as they like unless they have a reason to do so. But most of the time, the security guards will let them go in one lah with no questions asked.

But until now...
There is not clear definition for Condos... I mean, if it's considered "private"...
Coz, if I remember correctly, there was a STOMP post about a boy driving his daddy's R8 in a SG condo &... well.. I think you guys may remember the story...
