i heard that we shd use syn oil than use mineral oil for our 5k servicing.. heard that too much mineral oil is no gd for the car.. is it true?? one of my frd who is driving a picanto drain away his mineral oil during his 5k servicing n replace wif syn oil.. he recommend it to me as he say that too much mineral oil will spoil e car easily.

That's crap, only issue is that mineral oil have a shorter running life span as compare to fully syn oil...one max till 5k another can last till 10k....since after 5k yr next oil change is at 10k meaning mileage usage to next oil change is only 5k, therefore it's a waste to use fully syn oil as it can last usage of 10k on the road.....but it's also up to individual, if u can afford, using syn oil in 5k servicing definitely is ok but having said that, mineral oil would not spoilt yr engine if u do servicing regularly i.e oil change every 5k.....

For some models, the give free 10k instead of 5k. Cos the 5k nothing much to do for their ride. Any one done the 5k knows what's being done?

Hi bros, my dad who plays with cars says 5k servicing is not necessary. can wait till 10k to save that extra $. what do u bros think?

Apparently for some make, the car comes with Syn oil and such no need for 5k servicing. But if our car comesw default with mineral better go for 5k.
