Re: K&N Air Filter Demo Video
They should have done the same test to other aftermarket air filters and do a comparison... other brand may also yield the same results or even better.

Re: K&N Air Filter Demo Video
Maybe I can try to find videos of demo of other brands of filters also.

Anyone can feel the effect of k&n or hurricane after installing?

Re: K&N Air Filter Demo Video
my ride after 4 years usage of knn and hurricane, the 02 sensor damage, the mech advise me to use back stock 1 as the stock's holes are much smaller than aftermarket 1,bigger holes will suck in more dirt and oil..

Re: K&N Air Filter Demo Video
- better airflow thus more dirt and oil enter thru, the 02 sensor clogged with dirt and oil,try cleaning it but also cannot, the car rpm will shoot up and downcpt_zr wrote:varadero23 wrote:i used both knn and Hurricane before on my pervious ride, long term usage will damage my O2 sensor..cost 200plus to replace a small sensor.stock still the best

Re: K&N Air Filter Demo Video
after market filters really does their job, allow more air to flow thru..as the holes are larger than stock

hmmm... i wonder is there such a product which falls in between, better air flow yet can do better filter job compare to the K&N.
I used K&N before.... initially was quite good... but as long run you find that you loose power bit by bit... because the system clog....

this is true, that's why we feel better with aftermarket filters, which in fact would not be good in the long run. stock still best. have experienced the same problem as you.

bro i use simota on my previous ride.. had a bad exp. the whole blood rubber/silcon(claim to be silicon) melted and the whole filter suck to the airbox. thx to that have to replace the whole airbox.. that why i reckon cheap stuff are nv good.. good stuff are nv cheap man lolx

Re: K&N Air Filter Demo Video
aftermarket filter let in more air, less restrictive filtration meaning more dirt will get suck into....if using aftermarket filter plus heavy footed. recommend to clean TB every 7-8k....

Re: K&N Air Filter Demo Video
Use stock la...
More air flow = more dust flow = shorter lifespan of car...
Use after market air filter = asking for trouble...
Well.. that is my 2 cent worth of opinion...

bro u have a wrong concept leh lolx... more airflow not equal shorter life span leh... if u use after market filters, yes the holes are bigger to allow more air to flow and dust so small that is not significant... for eg hurricane filters have holes very small 40micron (ave. hair is 50-70 micron) dust particles smaller then 40micron wont dmg ur engine.. i my previous car use hurricane for 5 years and dun have any problems. another friend matrix 8 years no problem at all.. u see the small dust particles that enter ur engine get traps in ur engine oil. as long as u change ur engine oil every 10k which i think most of us do.. you wont have any problems.. and also clean ur throttle body and idle valve too..
now the question is why OEM uses paper filter... paper filter restrict air flow to make the ride smoother and quietier to make it more sellable to the consumers. will u buy a noise car? all these at the expends of performance.
