Re: Hurricane filter vs CAI
i only know CAI will draw bigger amount of cold air when u step accel rather then stock air intake, so small & no power. hurricane?? which type u talking about? open pod of just filter?

What kind of CAI vs what kind of hurricane filter? And how's your CAI routing setup is going to be like? piping type/size/length? And what kind of filter is the CAI going to use?

Re: Hurricane filter vs CAI
bros dun confuse him la CAI = Cold Air intake hurricane is a filter both are different thing.. u can have CAI with hurricane filter together also.. its all up to u. Hurricane is a stainless steel filter with allow ur engine to suck air more freely... while CAI is cold air intake u see u may realised that ur car perform better at nite dur to cold is more dense then hot air given the same volume cold are are heavier in mass there for more oxygen and hence better combustion and hence better performance. u see the current AIr intake is over the radiator hence heating the air coming in from the front if u feed the ait intake with direct cooler air from outside the engine performance will increase. hoope this helps =)

Re: Hurricane filter vs CAI
Divine is right. in layman, CAI aka Cold Air intake. To go into more detail. Intake can become a induction. That will very depending on which is the intake hose/pipe position.
Hurricane stainless steel air filter allow air to travel in more freely with very less restriction. So, as to base on Divine's theory with regards to the CAI thing. Would it be even more better to have both combination? Well, it's up to indivdual to test and find out... lastly... share.

Hurricane Filter is the Sponge, CAI is the pipe. You don't need CAI cus the forte comes stock with it.

Re: Hurricane filter vs CAI
Hurricane if far from sponge. Hurricane is stainless steel.
CAI and hurricane is like comparing milkshake and fruit juice. Both quench thirst but different way of doing it.
Hurricane Open pod can be used with any setup, even with airbox. CAI can be used together with it..There are many combis to play with..
Short ram intake, Open pod with airbox, open pod with airbox + aftermarket CAI..
do note that the varying CAI length has different effects as well.

Re: Hurricane filter vs CAI
actually our forte comes with CAI, but then when the hood is closed the air flow path is actually blocked so its purpose is defeated. CAI is a promise of acceleration improvement, but when the road is flooded gg

every car comes with this intake pipe, but usuallly swapped out for longer, wider diameter piping and redirected. the purpose is not defeated actually, and when the car is on the move, it doesn't really make a difference since the air suction is actually pretty strong. You can try when you rev. That's why CAI is good to have cos it's cheap and can DIY, but so called improvement is only a little.
Rerouting a CAI to behind the headlamp is sufficient. Safer in floods.
