As for why ur loan application is being rejected by 3 banks, I think you should prolly know 2.3K is not enuff to support a normal plate koup. I only kena 1 tyre punctured and cant mend anymore. thats another $200 plus. u should be happy the bank did all this calculation for u. thats y they rejected u. not juz the defaulted $400.

u nvr run a household b4. dont u know there are many bills to pay? when u think of purchasing a car to fulfill ur dream, perhaps a diff price range make can suit u better.

Many SGs feel life is stressful cos they make many purchases which is not within their means. Perhaps u wanna be one of them ba. Why think of roping in ur GF to help? Doesnt she got her own commitments to her family members? Maybe it is out of pure love she is trying to fulfill ur dream. Nvr my intention to belittle u in terms of ur earning power.

Other than just adding some humour into this thread... That cartoon I posted is very real... Encourage we should and aspire we must. But for all of us giving Bro DH advise, we know next to nothing of his financial state and predicament other than his credit rating being 'sabotaged' by his sister and his ball-park figure monthly nett salary. If anything, our inputs and opinions should err on the safe side(as in bringing all possible pit-falls to light) but not necessarily put him down and discourage him for good.

DH is not a teenager but a 32yr old. Presumably, he would've been working for 10yrs by now and shld be mature enuf to understand what's rite and what's not-so-rite. As concerned forummers, we can only give our free 2cents worth of advice to a stranger. Whether the advice is taken or ignored is completely up to DH and we shldn't get personal if he chooses the latter and proceeds to buy the koup despite the obvious circumstances.

I'm on the 'dun do it' as oppose to 'just do it' camp but i can oso fully understand the temptation to buy the koup. I mean, I dun need a koup but one look at vivo and i bought it anyway. So i know how it feels. But facts are facts and DH juz hv to be prepared to live wif his own decision and consequences, if any. As I said b4, it's a very slippery slope here so be very careful as the pit is deep and climbing out can be painful later. 'Nuff said.

Ah nvm lah... I appreciate comments, advices and the whatnots. But personal attacks I dont like. Anyways, busy this christmas eve ploughing thru TORCHLIGHT game on my MAC. Getting my mind off things like wedding preparation hell, work and more work... also bah gut teh

However I think a koup is not realistic even I think I have more finacial freedom than your current situation (based on ur pay n lifestage). I dun have much financial burden, single and spends only on food when I go out.

But for me even a forte is stretching me abit. I have just nice each month, quite little savings other than personal insurance. Of cos having a car is a very good and life changing experience. To name a few, I saved heaps of time which I compared to public transport as home to office is far.

My office is at changi n stay yishun on average I spend 260 a month on petrol even after petrol discount n rebates. I consider that as quite fuel efficient already as my place hit the highway rather convinently. If I dun remember u stay yewtee??? Maybe u should factor at least 300 a month for petrol alone.

Realistically I feel maybe u can start to look at a smaller car? Hope that helps, and hopefully whatever outcome it might be, u will be happy in the future.
