Fabric vs Leather Seats
What do you guys (gals) think? Fabric better or leather... The fabric gives a more sporty feel and it'll hold better when negotiating turns... Then again, leather easier to clean... How?

Re: Fabric vs Leather Seats
for me.. i weight the pros and cons and the out come is to go for leather, as Fabric for me is too much a chore to maintain.
so its abit class in the inside and sporty on the outside

personally what quality leather you are looking at play a part.. some do half leather half synthetic, while others choose fabric cos sporty and save $$...

Re: Fabric vs Leather Seats
i went with red leather because the bright red interior will match my black car's exterior
leather gives you a brighter tone than fabric and if i have to change in the future, i will go with white leather

I prefer leather personally. Dun really like fabric. Same thing leather easier to maintain.

Re: Fabric vs Leather Seats
Fabric are dust magnets, so if you have chronic nasal problem or asthmatic, should opt for leather, which would be easier to maintain, and not so warm if you parked under the sun. Fabric is leading in terms of heat retention, followed by PVC, then leather.
Btw, I also opted for black with red leather seats, cos number plate also red... wheres my car??????

Re: Fabric vs Leather Seats
Leather would take a shorter time to get cooled as compared with fabric. Information was passed down from furniture gurus, if you passed by any shop can really check with them.
1/2 leather combined with 1/2 synthetic aka PVC means the contact area is leather, meaning seats, back rest and head, other then that, the stiching thereafter is PVC.

depends on individual. the koup's stock seats (a mix of mesh/fabric/suede) looks sporty and grips very well. i like to chuck the car around corners, which is one trait that the koup excels in, so it's fabric for me.

When is it my turn to chuck...maybe go sin ming and rewrap if not suitable, ask them wrap more bucket-seat style for me. honestly, forgotten how the car feels like liao, by the time it comes, I would be like "eh, I bought car meh"???

that's what I think as well... my brother told me the fabric was uncomfortable when he was sitting behind... maybe can ask fabric in front and leather behind?

Re: Fabric vs Leather Seats
i don't like fabric, it's kind of "butt sinks deep into the seat" which can be uncomfortable over long distance drive. leather is more stiff and can hold my butt, resulting in a better sitting posture and comfort.

Re: Fabric vs Leather Seats
actually depends on d materials inside d seat (if will sink or not or how deep it will sink)... leather will oso sink lor....

I chose leather for the smell ... hahaha... so I have to frequently treat it loh.

another thing about leather seats is the they give your car a higher resale value. but for forte and koup, leather seats come as standard already.

Re: Fabric vs Leather Seats
Fabric tends to keep and attract lots of dust.
Also not so easy to maintain, in terms of cleaning.

yes, more "up"... but like we've said a few times, fabric holds the driver better... not sure how's the grip for leather though...

Re: Fabric vs Leather Seats
The color of fabric seats starts to fade in less than a year, makes the car interior look old.
Rain splashes onto the outer side of the seats will cause the fading as well.
Can be quite unsightly as it create patches of lighter tones.
Perhaps prolong parking in the open accelerates the fading due to the oxidising nature of the Sun's IR/UV.
And no matter how well you vacuum the seats, a few pats on them will send up a dust cloud.
My previous 2 rides were on fabric so it's a nice change to leather for me.
