Re: Koup’s hidden technologies
max wrote:Walk-in memory system & Bucket seats
To make the transformation from the four-door sedan to two-door sports coupe, Kia’s R&D team rehauled the overall look and design of the existing Forte (Cerato) and added numerous new technologies.
Over the course of a few weeks, I’ll be introducing some of the most interesting new technologies and development stories in regards to the new Forte (Cerato) Koup.
Today’s first posting is on the walk-in memory system and bucket seats. Since a coupe only has two doors, entry and egress of rear seat passengers can be cumbersome compared to four-door sedans.
Entry and egress is only possible by moving the front seat forward and then folding the backrest. It then takes several steps of manipulating various levers to return the front seat to its original position. This inconvenience has always been considered the price one inevitably had to pay to enjoy the sleek styling of a coupe.
The Forte (Cerato) Koup’s walk-in memory system however drastically reduces that hassle.
The system remembers the track location of the front seat to enable an easy, one-step return to the original position after it has been moved. The Forte (Cerato) Koup is the first application of the walk-in memory design among the Kia line-up.
The system eliminates the difficult and cumbersome process of adjusting the recliner and track levers to restore the front seat to its original location.
The new seat-track walk-in system is a technology patented in Korea and overseas. It enables the front seat to be restored to its original track location with a single push backwards. Interestingly, the folding angle of the front seat is 25% greater than in a regular sedan, freeing up more space for easy entry and egress of rear seat passengers.
While the walk-in memory system is a technology that makes it more comfortable for passengers to get in or out of the car, the sport bucket seat, designed especially for the Forte (Cerato) Koup, delivers comfort and convenience while passengers are in the car. Compared to seats in the Forte (Cerato) sedan, the Forte (Cerato) Koup bucket seat has a 32mm wider back bolster for the waist and torso, and a 25mm wider seat cushion bolster for the thighs. This secures the driver and passenger in their seats to prevent sliding during cornering, and helps them feel more connected with the vehicle.
The headrest casing that supports the head and neck was specialized, while the cover was extended to the back of the seat to radiate a more streamlined and sporty characteristic.
The striking red leather stitching found throughout the car’s interior highlights its sporty and dynamic personality, too.
As you can see, the R&D team at Kia gave a lot of thought and attention on how to improve the driving experience by coming up with these new technologies.
And, this is just the beginning! Keep your eyes peeled for more postings on the Forte (Cerato) Koup’s many multimedia, safety and convenience features. They’ll soon be coming your way.

onli the passenger side got the lever on the side backrest to flip the seat forward. i mean, after one has flipped the seat and push it back to the upright position, it doesn't go back to the previous position aka 'memory' position. still hv to readjust the seat rake and reach.

correct.. doesnt work at all. the lever after u lift and push back, it will just go back to the standard upright position.
unless u hold on the lever and push the back rest to the position u want and release it, then it will stay there. if not will be the standard upright position.

May I ask why you want to opt out?
Did you try to ask to change to another brand?
I read mixed feedback on the Rikecool so thinking of going for the better establish brand too.
Any suggestions?

Re: Koup’s hidden technologies
cos after looking some bros here who collected liao, find tt the rikecool not as dark as i would like it to be. rikecool given by SE so I presume pointless to ask for other brand. with $300 can go outside find better ones. And im considering one of the advertisers here - tintsycool.. it's also one of the recommended merchant in sgcarmartceratopia wrote:whitechoco wrote:btw, i cfm opt out solar film liao.. same thing.. $300 rebates

Re: Koup’s hidden technologies
3M is reputable but is their 3M Crystalline Solar Film good in terms of preventing heat build-up and cooling of the car interior. I was quoted $200 less than Rikecool's $900.
I also wonder why is the Rikecool priced higher than 3M?

Re: Koup’s hidden technologies
Memory seat feature is not a big deal. Many other makes have this. Like a few here, I asked about that and I think it is an option delete for our market in order to keep the price of the Koup low. So NO, we will not be getting this which is a pity.

Re: Koup’s hidden technologies
Such a simple feature also dont have? kinda defeats the purpose of the folding seats lol
