Red Dashboard not approved!

just recieved call from SA,
was told due to the front airbag etc,
red dashboard did not get approved and passed.
so no choice but to retain the black original one

Got red one meh?

arh... initially i still wan to get my SE to FOC tat for me :p
lucky i didnt if not it will be a disappointment for me...

got red 1, if u happen to be there on the initial launch period, there is this black koup @ the lobby which feature the red interior

how does the color affect the airbag!?

front air bag is not the cause.... more probably the glare / reflection u will see in ur front windscreen mirror,
can be quite distracting......just try putting a red cloth on ur dashboard

Ford Fiesta also red dash leh.

ford fiesta ... no experience.... but for forte... the reflection can be irritating....

but is there any outside workshop that i can get it done at?

I see some cars put flurry flurry piece to cover whole of the top dashboard. And it's white somemore. So this is LTA not approved also? If spotted will flag you to oneside:?:

whether approved by LTA or not is secondary. even without anything, i oredi find the glare from the dashboard annoying at times. realli dunno how those ppl can tahan the glare from those white furry stuff....??

thot if LTA worry abt safety, they shld clamp down on those round glass water-filled air purifiers i see some ppl put on the dashboard. if ever kena accident, can't imagine the facial injuries those things will cause.

i bliv e case is geniune..from my udstdg, to change into the red dashboard, they hv to remove the cover and replace wif a new one, which happens to be e cover for e airbag as well. so tt's why became a sensitive issue..tt's why u see tt not all e places/SE are offering this "upgrade"..

what about this convertible? also red dashboard but still approved on the road. this proves that CnC SEs are talking nonsense.

that one seems that the whole dashboard is red. the koup one not whole thing red leh.. only the top part.. dunno hw to describe. hehe.... so nt sure hw they need to change also if need to.

X2 - the issue is with the airbag, not the colour of the dash. Specifying red will add to the cost for CnC so they told the easy way out and kept all dash black. I love the red too and if the right parts are orders, I am sure someone with the right tools will be able to replace the panel that conceals the airbag. Thank goodness the panel is a seperate piece unlike some that are seamless with the rest of the dash. The aircon vent's replacement should be easy.

so CnC gave me the solution..

he gave me their dealer address that does the red dashboard.
was told to go myself and do it with the same price quote by CnC.

hmm..i presume c&c dun wan to get into trouble by helpin u to install? did u check whether after doing it, the warranty still hold?

As in this 'dealer' will change it for you? How much is the price and how about procurement of the red parts? TIA

400 bucks as quote back in CNC launch .

true. i also dun see why red is not approved! in fact the red dash is the one thing tt is unique to the koup!!

SGD400 is definitely worth it. It adds at least 30bhp to the Koup!
