hehe i tot of putting GPS.. as in internal GPS.. so anyone stole my car.. i know where they shipped to..

anyway.. dont think thief interested in KIA.. they dont even bother to look at honda jazz.

They more interested in big car like MPV or SUV.. which they can earn more $$.

A: Alarm give out a loud alert noise to surrounding and prompt anyone nearby that someone is tampering your car.

Q: Is our Forte comes with alarm?

A: Forte comes with a soundless centralized locking and unlocking via transponder. So I will say Forte does not comes with alarm, unless your SE decided to give you for FREE!

Bro, than what is immobilizer i'm still confuse!

Immobilizer is a device that recognise the correct key..

E.g. if your car have a immobilizer, You cant use a duplicate key to start the engine. Because immoblizer doesnt recognise the duplicate key and your car wont start.

In simple words, if you lose 1 set of key and u intend to duplicate it.. you cannot because your car doesnt start, therefore the solution is to change the whole immobilizer keyhole set in the car.

Your key has has been implanted with an electronic chip. Therefore it cost alot replacing the key(forgot the exact amount but it was in hundred region). To replace another key, just go to your dealer can liao.
But funny thing is my friend worried about the replacement cost and duplicated a normal key and coupled with the central lock, meaning he bypassed the immobilizer liao. So far for the security.

And confirm all Forte model does not come with immobilizers, Sportage is the only KIA model I know, that has it

You ask him to confirm!! u can challenge him.. if dont hve, is he going to fix 1 for you. =)

In the pre-launched specification stated YES.. comes with immobilizer, but after tested and proven that SG forte does not come with immobilizer due to no keyless start button. This is why all our forte in SG will not have immobilizer and in the specification now, regardless you see thru KIA website or from their price list. It shows nothing abt immobilizer.

Dont believe?? anyone with SX model go duplicate your key and start cranking with the duplicate key. If you unable to start the engine means the car comes with immobilizer, if it does means it doesnt come with immobilizer.

Good Luck!

His key is a giant one, I think his central lock is in the key handle too, coz I only see a key strap, and previously he had a locally fitted remote start function till it broke. Few of my friends who know each other too, bought their swift together through same PI kekeke. Talk about swift passion kekeke

Better to be safe than sorry, especially for the Bro/Sis(s) who travel up north often.

Top it up with a simple steering wheel lock or one of those pedal locks...too!

still with the immobilizer, the robbers took the cars within minutes... they dont even need to start the car to tow it off....

i saw a shop selling car remotes and keys ans asked them how much for 1 set of kia's including the boot. I was quoted a rough figure of $90 but they are not sure if they have the kia's replica electronic chip or board.
