Relax sister, (i didnt know u were a sis).gravin wrote:
To me, I have 3 bids more left. If they tell me 5 bids left, I surely bang table. I don't care if they never bid, that's not my problem. To me, every COE bidding, they HAVE to bid for us, no matter what. And I will tell them say my SE SMS me to say they are bidding, I don't even know you all didn't bid. My turn to change story.
I didn't ask my SE about how many times left because when SE called to explain to my hubby, my hubby flare up and SE said it's ok, they are already used to customer flaring up at them, which makes me more pissed! They don't seem to give a damn. And SE don't even want to offer me guaranteed. Think SE earn enough liao lar. Short of me, SE won't eat grass.
By the way, I also booked a 1.6 SX (A) OPC, which I think they value us less. (my personal opinion)
Anyway i think maybe u happen to meet up with a black sheep of the company. I dont think all SE are like this. And i think some other companies also has this kinda policy where they have 4-6 bids but sometimes they dont bid.
Maybe ur SE didnt explain his/her difficulity? Probably calling up and discuss about how confident he/she is able to get coe out of the 6 bids is better, if he/she is not confident, u can consider topping up option or cat E. Now is a good time for these options also.
Discuss with them since u know u already drop that depposite

It's ok. I am patiently waiting for the 6 bids to be over, already prepared to receive my booking fee refund. It's really disappointing experience with Kia and C&C. If I get the car of course I am happy, but if not, then I think it's just no meant to be.

Re: COEs result
Relax relax, they got a lot of back orders to fulfill, probably have to bid conservatively or else the COE will go even higher.
If anyone to blame, blame the COE quota system. They should just let it be a flat rate and ppl juz queue up for it. Transparent, systematic and save everyone alot of unnecessary grief.
At least you know where you are in the queue, and only need the CAR from the dealer.

now COE 8K+ is it ?
seriously, i dunno if the 10k is the amount for the bid or like a refundable entry fee?
Hi Leonard & amerimacka,
Yes, to bid COE it's 10K/bid desposit first and current COE is 8K+.
But how much you pay for the initial booking fee? If it's 1K, C&C will have to come up with another 9K to bid for you.
The 10K will only be 'refund' when the car is registered. Normally this 10K amount will be used to offset with the COE cost and other registration cost & taxes.

Hey Gravin... yup be patient.. agree wif u... i think they will bid on this coming 20 May for show... shall wait till end Jun (last bid) to get refund... my SE said even after 6 bid fail.. they will even offer 1 more bid.. i told SE dun bother!!! then again.. it's good to talk it out with yr SE politely on how to strike win-win.. get my coe and SE get comm.. think i shall try for coming bid.. afterall there's always another "Chia" than "Kia"...Good Luck..

Re: COEs result
Actually I feel KIA Korea also partly to blame. They do not churn out cars fast enough. Every shipment limited colors, limited models/transmission type. That's why the sales agreement is 6 bids/3 months. to but time.
Other makes possible 4 bid/2 months or even shorter cos got ready stock here or overseas.

i rather they take their time to do the mass order better than anyhow do and mass shipment over.. which will give even more problem.

it's the end of the week...
there's quota to meet...
so eventually most people believed that QC is much less stringent on the last day of the week before offday...

its could be a myth...
some cars got lots of problem, some cars don't
the term 'friday' cars was given to such cars with lots of problems, and the term was told to me by my mechanics friends, but then its still depend on the end user...

read that the Forte was actually launched in KR in Aug 08 b4 they started exporting (think SG is among the first few countries to get it).....further more this car share lots parts with the Avante (same platform & Gamma engine) that's been in used since 07 so should not have many big issues...

not only tat .. those COE increase , KIA didn't increase their car price . they went ahead to take away the BK but then throw in retractable mirror which was more practical .
then plus and minus , nego here and there , they off cheaper price for BK .
think their marketting oso not bad .

But I was thinking... how come the efficiency of their deliverables are so low... now they know alot of pple will buy, then why dun they ship in more stocks..... either that their factory too small for huge production....

Of cos.. you see in the market which are the car have 1.5/1.6 engine and use 2.0 body??
So far i know is:
Mitshibishi EX

You compare the above price tag with Forte.. differences by 18+
This is why everyone is attracted to Forte cause nice outlook, low price tag and great features!

Check COE
COE bidding starts very 1st & 3rd Monday of the month and end Wednesday.
You can use the link http://ocoe.lta.gov.sg/ to check your bidding status yourself(using your IC No), no need
to wait anxiously for SE call

If AD didn't bid for you, you will naturally will not see your record from the website.
Usually the bidding start coming in on Wednesday itself, so don't panic and start calling ya SE if
you didn't see ya record on Mon & Tue.

yup... before the bid ends, tried to check, my id is not valid...
after the bid... checked... my id... bidding successful...
then can only found out when they start to bid for u and their reserved price.

Re: COEs result
Not true. You will still be able to see your record even before the bidding end IF AD got submit bid for you. The record bidding status is "In process". After the bidding end, you will then see your status as successful or not successful. The record contain information by the amount AD bid for you and the current bidding amount.
Maybe then you check that time, your bidding not submitted yet or yours is Open CAT?
