Service before a road trip?
Hi, my OPC Forte has only logged slightly more than 3k so far, and next servicing is due in 2 weeks' time (going by next service date as notified by CnC), just before I'm about to do a weeklong drive up to KL.
I expect I would have clocked barely half of the next service mileage of 6000km before my trip, but seeing how I expect to log 1000+km on this trip, would anyone have any suggestions/recommendation if it's advisable for me to get the servicing done before the trip? Or would a simple pre-trip check of my engine coolant and oil levels suffice?

if u want to err on the safe side , i suppose it is better to go for service just to be sure....
however, the car is so new that u dun really expect it to "fail" so soon. except for the ws.

Thanks, everyone, for your input - I might well leave the servicing for till I get back - seeing as to how the car hasn't given me any problems to date (save for slightly foggy headlamps at times) anyway.
Keeping my fingers crossed on the windscreen issue. Heard one loud "piak" sound from it a couple of months back (loud enough to wake my sleeping passengers), but no sign of a crack to date... :p
While I'm typing - OT a bit - what's good/worth visiting/doing in/around KL ah? Will be staying in PJ.

I think your car should be ok.
new car less problem.
u really need to remember 3 things.
Water(Top up ur water, batteries, coolant etc. , Air (in ur tires), Fuel (In ur tank).
Unless ur are damn familiar with the place ur are driving, and seems like maybe ur first road trip up KL drivng urself make sure u know where is the next petrol kiosk.
Make sure u have enuff of them

Hah, good point, bro... happily assumed that petrol stations are always just around the corner.
I'll be making use of a Garmin GPS with MalSing maps (just updated the maps). Does anyone who's got experience with malsing maps know if they're reliable in this respect (location of petrol kiosks in Malaysia)?
