my windscreen cracked this afternoon

anyone experience this? i was driving alone PIE i heard a few sounds of "Piak" then after tat a really loud "piak" and the windscreen cracked!

lucky C&C will be replacing it for me!

Oh no man, dexter , u jst got ur ride? man, C&C need to do more to fix this issue rather than asking the Kia engineers to come over here to 'visit' Sg few mthly n not solving the matter.

The Piak-piak-paik sound is more distinct after u have parked the car under sun...

knn if my windscreen crack a second time i'm gonig to demand compensation for the inconvenience of replacing the windscreen

or make your SE throw some freebies in as compensation for your time, that should be easier

when C&C replace the windscreen, they claim it from your insurance or they just replace it without question?

I think if they claim it from your insurance, there will be excess rite?

THink CnC will replace it themselves. Heard my SE saying CnC give warranty to windscreen for 10 yrs since the occurence of the problem in Sg.

how about if ur film is tinted ? will they compensate ?

Yes, if due to self cracked, they will replaced windscreen FOC plus yr sunfilm (inhouse)...meaning if yr comes with CnC sunfilm(rikecool) they will also replace FOC too....for assurance, some of us actually received official letter from CnC that they will replace the windscreen FOC if it's due to OEM fault even it past its warranty period of 3 yrs....however I really wish they can solve it once and for all then having this stigma of worrying when will be the next crack?

today went down to get my solar film (rikecool) done... got it FOC cos of SDW issue...

hiak hiak hiak... my car finally kenna a long crack liao.. haiz!!! worst still, it cracked in Port ****...

come to think of it.......your car already coming to 9 months.....windscreen still cracked.......guess it is only a matter of time....all ours going to crack too.....

actually SE assurance cannot be trusted.

well, at least if it breaks, i can say that i was reassured 3 distinct times by my SE. They better have a darn good reason to explain why mine still breaks.

Last Sat my windscreen cracked in Malaysia highway, one "Piak" can see the line from left edge grew longer and longer. Lucky only 1 line otherwise how to drive back.
Anyone know beside replacing the windscreen & rikecool, can we demand CC to compensate us with courtesy car & the unnessary petrol cost to replace windscreen & rikecool, waste of time ?

After seeing how cars are made in thailand, i got a feeling tat this kinda windscreen crack arises from the construction of the frame around the windscreen area.. a plus/ minus mm off will resulted a tighter fitting of the windscreen.. the stress build up over time and result in the weakening of the glass and eventually cracking.. remember the cracks area r the same for a few forte tat posted photos here.. which possibly means the tight spot is the same from the production machines..
anyway jus my guess and hope my forte was not from the affected line of production.. =)
