top speed of forte 1.6 sx

anyone tried the top speed of 1.6 sx (A) ?

last time i try is 120 to 140 ...i know my FC still can go , but i scare. The time at JB and CFO beside me .... hehe

i did 197 yesterday on NSHW on a downhill slope~ =D

the fastest i tried was close to 175km/h on the ECP at night when there are almost no cars on the road. That was the only time i tried...i still wan my licence. haha.

Have tested at 160km/hrs on NSHW and it was very noisy.

yah, i go 140km/hr already very noisy. But how to block the noise from the cabin?

noisy is because of engine noise or road noise?

super noisy, + aircon off, stereo off, all power straight to engine. wahhahaaa.. but the steering like feather man. i did that in broad daylight so i got good line of sight.. or else i don't dare to do that man..

becos of the SX stock tyres and also due to road condition. Engine noise is still ok.

yeah, i agree with that, the stock tyres are terrible noise makers man..

The wider the tyre... the noisier the car...

wow i hvnt realli tested it. i onli tried 140 at cte during the night. he car feels like its gg to fly then i don dare to step on it alrdy -.-

actually noise also depends on the road....i tried on ECP, the noise level was ok....malaysia road will be uber noisy....if u guys wan to soften down the noise level, try doing undercarriage coating....tat works but will only last for abt 2 years, Avante has undercarriage coating i.e TuffKote

for NSHW, some area surface are of concrete instead of normal road, usually along those area with high cross wind area... IIRC, but indeed its super noisy!.. tested to ~170 with a/c on.. but should have a little more to go if drag abit on gears...

I thought Tuffkote is to protect the undercarriage from rust? How can this help soften down the noise?

I've have tried up to 165km/h on NSHW....in my opinion, the car is stable due to broad tyres (17") and can feel the engine is willing to GO somemore if I step more.....a pretty decent car in terms of performance vs cost price at $48k.....

just came back from KL. Overall the car is good considering it's price.
Once I was running at 160km/hr without realizing. Quite noisy from 120km/hr and above probably due to the wide tires and road condition. RPM was around 5k at 160km/hr, surprisingly the car was stable, no vibrations. The car willing to go faster if I were to depress the pedal a bit more. And one more thing, for a 1.6l car, the acceleration from 100 - 140 is pretty quick.

Just my observations, some of you might disagree with my opinion.

I also observed that 100-140 can be done quite quickly, sometimes need to overtake lane 1 hoggers.

Yea.. High speed acceleration seems pretty ok. But they need to work on the lower speeds.

change to lighter rims, lose some weight from our own body, put CAI with high flow drop in filter, keep spare tire at hm, keep boot empty...should help ABIT...haha...

Alternatively you can change to a better sparks plug + air filter. Should help a little too.. It did for me.

With air-con on i only manage to hit 150km/h on cte leh... like cannot go anymore... weak leh...

not really ah.. i went up to 160 on m'sian highway leh.. after dat a bit wobbly liao..

tested mine at NSHW at 170km/h... n e engine can still go for more...

diz one bo pian, im not trying e top speed... but to catch up wif e group leader who driving his stream so fast....

maybe you try down 1 gear, should able to hit more than 150 in shorter time

here is my Top Speed i drive, lol its edit by photoshop.

my Top Speed reach is 190 Km/h
i drive it at the Third shift up to 160 km/h but the engine noise was so high, video posted in my Wolf Night Page.

160kmph, that's the fastest I have ever zoomed in my car. After that my leg became jelly and I released

Tested to 180 on NSHW too.. ditching vios after 160... haaa.. good i must say but kind of worry on stock too.. not too sure our stock tyre can last or not.. haa..

just a reminder..... dun go over what u are used to handle....
pls dun test test just to see whether can go or not....
like adultery... a moment of ecstasy can lead to a lifetime of regret..

good advice... mine lasted a short while... only.. really no point rushing for the time.. and it cant save you much also.

I'm not so concern about the top speed. I'm more worry about the stablility during hard braking at that kinda speed.
