Most important is budget.
If not I tell u Les Amis lor.
I went there for romantic stuff, spent a crazy amount think 600+ or 700+ for a dinner for 2.
Later after that, we went to hawker center to eat again. NOT FULL!!!

Re: romantic candlelit dinner location
$100 for 2 is doable for a nice romantic date, but you can probably forget wine. Since romance is the thing, we'll aim for nice ambience first, and decent food second. You can probably stay within your budget and have a 3-course set meal (or 2 course ala carte) at the places below.
European: Wild Rocket
Italian: Pasta Brava, Da Paolo il Giardino
French: Bistro Petit Salut, Cafe Le Chateau
Japanese: Japanese Dining Sun
For research, try hungrygowhere.com. If I'm on a hot date, I try to look for places with impeccable service. Bad service will spoil the experience.

Mimolette is a nice place, but I think out of TS budget. Besides, the service is spotty for locals, and it just got voted Best Restaurant by ExpatSingapore mag. So expect them to be even more atas.

You never state the date objective. For $100 I assume this is just a 'normal' date?alex86 wrote:

Re: romantic candlelit dinner location
western stuff... well, I do find that many locals actually do not know how to use the knife and fork properly..... like licking the knife ... or putting the knife into the mouth.... then using spoon for a rice dish etc....

Spontaneity needs to be planned. Fail to plan, and you plan to fail!
KingJerry: For 500 plus flowers, I'd recommend Absinthe. Great food, great drama (the chef, sommelier and waiters are all friendly, chatty and fun), nice atmosphere.
Or Otto Ristorante. Better food.
Or Sage the Restaurant. Discrete service.

Can try Tavern...

They have set dinners which are pretty good.
I had the ala carte and the damage was around 120+??
Try the
Tournedo Rossini,
Raclette with Air-dried Beef,
Lobster Bisque.
Service was pretty good as well.

Second that. I love the place. We have wagyu beef, not as fanastic as other places, but ambience is nice nice.
My bill for 2 was about 300+ w/o wine
