Car Accessories Theft at Teck Whye MSCP.

Hiiiiii,

Anyone here experiencing your car accessories stuff stolen?

Friday evening When I walk round my car... All 4 Air valve caps - ALL DISAPPEAR. Exposing the golden tip of the valve.

$4.80 thing also attracts Thief???

If this/these thief smash my car window... I won't lose just $4.80.
Any "Gao Ren" can "Zhi dian Zhi Dian" prevention against these xxxx.
Maybe electrify the car - When anyone walk close and touch car will get a wake up shock.

I kanna many years ago at Shaw Center. Cos my car park really close to the wall, he took only 2 caps.

Wonder what's on these ppl mind? Got $ buy car no $ to buy cap.

maybe those cyclist as they only need 2 caps...

mine was also alloys tyre caps, alloy screws, motor cycle side mirror, motorcycle swingarms plastic caps... decal stickers, and motorbike cover... all stolen from my bikes...

for such valve caps, if you buy slightly more expensive type, a little bit of super glue onto the thread then screw it in.... normally such petty thief do not carry pliers, with super glued tight, fingers will not move them so easily...

use a plier..... and how often do you pump air??? not every week??? for me, I don't even check tire pressure... leave it to service time....

there's a valve cap with a special nuts.. it is called anti-theft valve cap if not wrong..

it required special tools in order to unscrew..

under this "HDB culture", you won't be surprised that even my catus plants are stolen...

u put anti theft valve.... maybe they steal the tyres.....

got anti theft wheel nuts aso..

that is to protect those people with expensive rims.

Yup, once I have 1 nut tt require a special key to loosen/tighten. So no one can remove the wheel unless he owns the same I guess.

my NS track shoes got stolen as well. $130 in market price ($45 for NS men). %&&*$%^

i can't imagine someone buy a Porsche and park under a HDB flat. the next day he may see his car burn up.

Err.. i thk tire pressure shd be a routine check by driver.. i pump air whenever i hv time after topping of petrol.. to me it's very important to maintain the correct pressure for safety reason as well as getting good FC.. from my observation forte pressure drop by 10-15 kpa in abt 2 weeks period.. anyway, my stainless steel caps were often stolen from my previous ride too.. ended up i surrender, use back those black plastic caps and ended this problem..

even the FREE Today newspaper gets stolen

same.. I dont even bother to change the cap..

I still have the black caps. Screw it back and hopefully it won't be stolen. Though it don't look as good.

I saw a set with KIA logo with a mini spanner. Is it the secured type?

My "spoilt" slippers also got stolen from my doorstep couple of months back... Already no more threading on the sole, in fact i was thinking of throwing it away. =x

Same like an uncle driver told me. outside car belongs to others only the Inside of car belongs to owner. Same for HDB.

I totally agree with this saying "The outside of the car belongs to others, only the inside belongs to me." So brothers ... the morale of the story: don't spend too much time and money on the exterior of our car. I have learn to accept this fact this from my previous ride when i got 8 scratches on my car.... no use to feel sad about it.

It's not whether we stay in HDB or not.... we can still be a victim anywhere we go.

Not necessary. Some Corner Units have the option of applying for permission to do this. Only corner units, and they need to seek permission. If they do, and get approval, they have all the right to do so. :-)

But then again, if ppl wanna steal, sure there is a way, with or without the fence. Maybe they steal the fence?? Hehehe!! I know msia there are many cases where fences get stolen and sold for their metal. Even manhole covers, drain covers, etc get stolen!! So those of you in msia, even while walking on the pedestrian walkway, please look out. Dun later you 'disappear'!! Fall into the drain!! Hahaha!! :-)

I think those units have to pay a premium to fence up. I have seen lots at Pasir Ris since the 1990s.

They have to pay some sorta amount. Not sure how much. But yeah if they go thru proper procedure, its allowed. :-)

Like Aura said, you can see many around. If not allowed, long time ago HDB would have done something about it already. :-)

Camera not feasible against theft but applicable for accident. Useful evidence Provided you catch the Vandalist or Thief.

How about electrifying the car when you arm. Whoever touch will kana electrocuted.

i dunno abt electrifying device but i remember a few years back in south africa they have a super car alarm... with FLAME THROWER!! i kid u not... they bladdy fry the bugger whu try to hijack the car... not THATS protection...

Confirm sure no more theft!! Unless the thief really desperate, the body only also wanna steal!! Hehehe!! :-)

Or invent a new portable cage. Hehehe!! When you park your car, assemble this cage around your car. The cage fitted to the ground. Only you can remove it!! Hehehe!! :-)

But no guarantees the theives will not bring those heavy duty cutters to cut thru!! Hehehe!! But doubt so for our Forte. Hehehe!! Maybe those more expensive cars. :-)

This is nothing new....... Has happened to me many times until I gave up. The day I took delivery of my Forte I replaced the chromed tire caps with black plastic ones. Have you noticed the bikes around your area with chromed tire caps? Those si gin nahs are likely to be the culprits.........

I checked on the EX Forte parking at lower level but nothing happen to his silver cap leh...

Don really care if they eat them...lol... might as well steal the whole car if they like the caps so much. The caps are really cheap and if you go to those tyre shops, they can also give you.

Good idea.. maybe like F1 steering wheel....? just detach as we go..?

Ohh talking about F1, last nite was at St James, they were having the F1 Ferrari thing there. Models and girls were nice!! The 3 past cars were there too. Too bad no engine or else I would have driven it away!! Hehehe!! :-)

Tried the simulator. Quite fun. But too bad they programmed it such that got brake assistance. And I think they controlled the speed too. So if any of you go and try, just floor it all the way. Just make sure you make the turns properly. :-) My best time for 1 lap was 1 min 50 sec. :-)

I tried more than once cos the girl in charge of taking down the names damn nice. Very pretty too. Too bad she only there last nite. Think tonite and tomorrow she will be at zouk. For all those bros out there who are single and would like to talk to a very nice yet pretty girl, go look for Sarah. She has a very nice and big tattoo on her back too. :-)

normally the special tool is using Torx Screw?


Does deter abit cos. .. its not tat a common tool u will bring around...
Alternatively do a sticker ... stick near the door or rim

may do more harm with those special screw caps, the bugger may use too much strength trying to twist the cap, in the end snap the rubber tip.....then I rather they just take the cap, bcos the tires shop gave me 20 over pcs to keep inside my car....

last time my brother's Alfa Romeo's badge every time get stolen....he then apply super glue to the new badge....one morning he found that the badge was gone and worst they used some tools to ply the badge out thus leaving behind a long tool's marking on his panel (panel dented - about 2" length)....

Think my dream may come one day.

Energize force field around the car.

But for now charge with electricity first and shock the thief's hair to stand on ends.
