If this piece of curved mirror is just stick onto it, will it defies the purpose of the de-fogging function of your outside rearview mirror.

look at the mirror itself,... if equipped with de-fogging, actually it is de-icing... you will see a thin wire embeded into the mirror.... reason being, in winter at subzero temperatures, instead of dew like we have here, the car will be covered with thin ice......

y.esterday after rain, i pressed my rear windscreen heater to rid the raindrops. surprisingly, i realized my side mirrors also became clear of raindrops. so are our side mirrors 'heated'?

report back when i experiment again.

Yes, any curve mirror will have distance judgement but for me i'm please with it as i find its not so drastic as those curved rearview mirror.
Advantage: its neat, good for kerb parking and wider viewing angle.

minor side effect is that images appear smaller.. thus may be harder to see objects in distance, esp during changing lane and at night. but agree will be better for kerb parking.

nope, its more wider view and no issues with it at night. If its the curved rearview mirror, i agree.

actually now the issue is the auto darkening of our rearview mirror. if a motorcyclist did not switch on his headlight, i will not be able to see him. This i had had encountered at BKE, the notorious bike route. Usually will switch it off when auto darken.

Just happened to see this topic and quickly ran to tell my colleague (who just bought his forte) about this feature. He told me he was informed of this feature by his SE and he confirmed he was able to clear the rain droplets from his side mirrors too. Great! I can forget about applying the RainX from now.
