Actually I drive very slow, and like to follow behind the lorry on the expressway and stay on the left lane. Because of that, I always force to exit at the wrong exit because too late (and afraid) to change lane.
My Forte is light graphite 2.0SX, I am thinking to make it fierce is because someone commented my car look like ah pek car...
are u a new driver?
if u are, dun worry, as u gain more experience , u will be more confident. also as u drive longer, the car will be "grow" on you that it will feel like an extension of ur body, so changing lane will be easier.....
if u r not a new driver, u can psych out other drivers by putting the P plate on ur car and pretend that u are new on the road. Most drivers give way to P drivers, i think.... i know i do and dun drive behind a truck or lorry but if cannot avoid,,, minimum 5 car lengths..

That was in 2006 if i'm not wrong. LOL hilarious situation but for the guys who are picking up the 'leftover's its not.
Anyway yea its true not to drive behind a big lorry or bus as cant see anything infront, happened to me once when suddenly infront got a car breakdown. lucky I always have a habit of checking my mirrors for vehicles when driving and did a quick swerve to the right.

Nowadays where got drivers give way to P plates?? i got more horns than having the way to change lanes. I don't put on my triangles anymore makes me a better driver. After signal sure can change lane.. with P plate on, signal for 2 mins, still no chance to change lane..

Re: How to make Forte look more "FIERCE"?
stop by TP.. got 1st warning.. 2nd time.. bye bye to yr photocard..
So still safe.. The triangles plate make my driving more dangerous as the old birds just cut yr lane without signalling.. Buses too.. Without Triangles, they will caution abit when cutting yr lanes..

aggressive drivers will always be like dat... no matter who the other person is....
i dun expect all will give way....but for normal drivers like me, i think we give way since we kow the other person needs more space as he/she is new....
i hope there are more of us (normal) than aggressive drivers.....

yeah me agree,,these idiotic aggresive drivers are so impatient...whats there to be?if in the main road there are hell lots of traffic lights and you have to stop no matter how fast u r......
and they tend to 2 forget that they were once p-plate drivers b4....

I just got my license on 7-April this year, and ordered my Forte on 9-April. So, definitely I got to put the triangle plate. But sometime you signal for changing lane, the "fierce" cars will just speed up and stay beside you, so how to change? So, no choice lor, follow lorry or bus better...

Re: How to make Forte look more "FIERCE"?
b4 changing lane, u can position urcar near to the white lane divider... near to whichever lane that u going to...
this way, u can show others ur intention, incl ur signal light... and tell others that u don't mind having ur rear bang(sorry, i really try to rephrased) and also u are ready to claim from their insurance...
this will 'Fierced up' ur driving... than can proceed to make ur ride more fierce
sumtimes to change lane u need to speed up a little...
need to look far...
planned where and when to change lane...
change lane fast... not abruptly
all the above pointer need to be calculated fast...
and how fast u judge is based on ur experienced from day to day gained...
just my 1W 8)

Well, just like a friend I have who lives in Amsterdam. He prevents his car from getting broken into by placing labels in 3 languages that his car is tainted with Cyanide. He parks in the worst of areas, doesn't lock his car and he hasn't been a victim yet. Until he was questioned by the local police if the Cyanide part was true and told not to do so.
In your case, you could have a big bumper sticker that says, "Driver Doesn't Give A Sh*t!" or "I'm Going THIS Way RIGHT NOW!"
I'm sure Bro Siaoster(our resident sticker-man) can help you come up with something. =)

Like theory from denfencive driving course, must note down. Just remember "Don't worry to much, as long as you're in front, got signal in time, just let them kiss ur bumper". How fast they go also they would want to bang onto ur car.

Re: How to make Forte look more "FIERCE"?
Thanks for the advice.
Usually what I did is:
1. Intention to change lane, turn on signal, and turn a bit towards that direction
2. The car behind speed up...and look like very fierce...
3. Panic
4. Switch off signal, stay on the same lane
5. Continue to follow slow moving vehicle
Haha....

Its not wrong to do what you have done
but try not to follow behind big vehicles that obstruct your front view.

dont panic....
dont switch off ur signal
let the fierce one pass by (either by letting him pass or slowing down a bit)
then go in after he pass.....usually since the agressive one go faster, there will be a gap between him and the next car....
if the next car also agressive, then loop back to dun panic....

Good advise, panicking makes things worse.
Also more kayu.

Agreed, learnt that the hard way when i was riding a bike. Not funny when the idiot in front of you suddenly jams his brake for no apparent reason

lolz.. when you want to change lane.. look far see got space for you to chance lane or not.. unless u are doing last minute changing else before change lane always look far and plan according...
Then signal early.... if got vehicle at that direction you try speed up and over take him first...if you speed up and he also speed up.. then you slow down and when at same length you point your middle finger at him... then slow down and let him pass before you move your vehicle slight to the direction you want to change..look at the side and rear mirror and blind spot to confirm before moving to change lane..
never off your signal due to whatever reason cause your side and behind driver will be thinking you are trying to be funny or lost your way and will try to avoid you and faster drive pass you in case you suddenly come out pattern and reason in accident.

Re: How to make Forte look more "FIERCE"?
Wahhh all the 'professionals' giving teaching lessons..... hahaha!! :-)
Well, heres my 2 cents worth.....
If you're a beginner, try not to overtake or change lanes too quickly. As you might not know how to control your pick up speed, speed and judge your turning, the turning angle, etc, properly.
Try doing it slowly first and the more confident you become, increase your speed and reaction time. :-) Also, check for blind spots. I always turn back to see at least once instead of just relying on my mirrors. Hehehe!! Guess its now a habit. Cos when I first got my license, I almost bang another car or let that car bang me cos never check!! Hehehehe!! :-)
IF you see those cars who swerve in and out and change lanes like nobody's business, usually those cars are quite good cars. Firstly, the pick up must be quite good to swerve in and out like that and at the same time avoid being knocked from behind. 2ndly, the driver has to have very good understanding of the car as in how fast the pickup is, exactly how much space he/she requires for their car to cut in, the turning angle, etc etc etc......basically the driver has to understand and know the car pretty well and his/her skills must be pretty good to do so.
Of course if there are hardly any cars on the road, then its super easy. :-)
