The GPS unit itself does suppot DVD, however our console doesn't. MCD does have an alternative to solve this problem. It also comes with hidden reverse camera & parking assist.
For me I will prefer to have my GPS mount to my Dashboard as it looks more as a whole & cool. I dun like sticking something to my windscreen as it make my car messy. I guess each & everyone has got different preference
I will post up the pic asap so that you all have a longer time to decide & save. Tentatively the price is between $1000 to 1400, fixed price not confirm yet due to the modification.

Bro just sharing with you. That time when installing solar film at thermalguard, the boss remind me not to use suction cup for at least 1 month to prevent from peeling. Dunno true or not...

Re: 2-DIN Touchscreen ICE with GPS on Trial with latest 2-L Fortes
Yes, the advise given is best adhered to. Give it a week or so for the adhesive bond to cure. Otherwise, the suction cup will give you blister hell!

Thanks for the reminder bro. However I'm quite disappointed with Thermalguard. Their workmanship is bad. When I did my solar film, Linda told me that if after 2 weeks there are still bubbles on the windscreen, I can come over and they will re-do the solar film for me. So after 2 weeks, I found out that there are still small bubbles almost everywhere (front, side, rear). So I went there hoping to get some helps or advises. Linda was not around. A guy (Michael?) entertained me. He said the bubbles will not disrupt my vision when driving. He said when the bubbles become some damn big holes then only they will replace it for me. In short, they could not do anything for me. WTF?! Furthermore, I took the Platinum package SGD950!
Sorry, off topic.
Anyway, I just want to highlight that with those bubbles on the windscreen, I'm already pissed off. The day when the small bubbles become big bubbles, I will go and ask them to replace the solar film for me. I don't think my suction cup will change anything on that...

Re: 2-DIN Touchscreen ICE with GPS on Trial with latest 2-L Fortes
Bro kenincf,
That is simply not acceptable... Michael or whoever that is is pulling a fast one on you. The solar film installed on my car is a little-known brand called SC Cool. I was in and out of the workshop in 45-mins; I kid you not. There were five techs working on my car and according to the foreman, is not the norm. The other 4 were out for an installation appointment done at a residence.
My rear right window's film was re-installed 3-times during my time there because there was first a nick on the film the tech didn't see. The second time, the tech had somehow scratched the film while squeegee-ing(sp?) the soapy water out. And finally, successful the third time. There had been no bubbles since the day it was installed; the foreman said there was no reason why there should be. There is no way the bubbles would disappear or subside once the adhesive surrounding the bubble(s) had dried and cured.
This is the very same reason and rationale quoted by the people at Autosavers when I had my 3M ScotchGard Paint Protection Film installed on my rear bumper and door cups; different workshop, different techs, similar product installation procedures but the very same rationale.
Pardon the OT, Mod.

Yup, it runs on Windows CE 5.0. The GPS is with latest chipset MTK BEE 32ch (acquisition time < 5 sec). The device supports multimedia (video, mp3, photo). I'm using a 16GB SDHC for it.
Btw, it has AV IN, i.e. can consider installing a rear camera with it... or any other video source.

Bloody hell, no wonder my wife would rather I surf porn... The poisons here are lethal to my pockets and wallet.
I am quite sure that with Windows CE, Garmin's GMXT can be installed... Is it a touch screen? Now, where's that damned GARMIN GMXT & Windows CE 5.0 Installation link...

Actually I was planning to look for a better one when I collected my car. But when discussing with my SE to give me cash discount instead or other freebies rather than solar film, she insisted on giving me the thermalguard's voucher by saying that their workmanship is very good and it's reliable because the shop is there for many years. So I took her words for it.
Now, if you ask for my opinion, for sure I won't recommend thermalguard to anybody.

Re: 2-DIN Touchscreen ICE with GPS on Trial with latest 2-L Fortes
Hi,
OT a bit to share something i read regarding solar film from 3M website.
General Care
1) For the first 48 hours, avoid winding down the car windows.
2) Allow minimum 7 days after installation before you clean the surface to ensure complete bonding of films to window.
3) You may put up your car decals after the film installation.
However, do not paste stickers or other adhesive materials (including
suction cups) on the window films within 1st week of installation.
4) Do not peel at the edges of window films.
5) The film may be washed with common washing solutions 30 days after installation.
6) Abrasive type cleaning agents and bristle brushes which will
scratch the film must not be used. It is recommended to use synthetic
sponges, squeegees, or soft cloth with cleaning solution.
Water Bubbles
1) Water bubbles are inevitable in every solar film application and are temporary.
2) Allow up to 2 weeks for the bubble to evaporate where the car is exposed to the sun for at least 1 week.
3) If the bubbles are still visible after 3 weeks, you may approach 3M Certified Applicator for assistance.
Note: For the 1st week after film installation, the windows might
appear a bit hazy which will disappear after the water vapours have
evaporated
Multi-Glare Rear Glazing
1) Due to the nature of light, when light passes through the glass with the demister area, it will refract and hence causes the “Halo-effect”.
2) The picture on the right shows the glazing effect without any installation of solar film.

MCD finally sent the pics of their GPS. Actually it should be the same as the pics posted by greatgazoo (below). I like it actually. Nicely embedded. Saves me the hassle of taking the gps set on and off.

It's so tempting! If the price can be justified, I think I can put my portable GPS in the drawer already...

But must see the warranty got say "includes free change of film if bubble still present after 2-3wks." If got include then report to case, blacklist the blacksheep to prevent future customers from suffering
