seriously is there really such a thing?
metal once exposed to water will rust
only solution is to introduce a layer of paint to prevent rusting right?

not too sure of normal domestic cars, but certainly some rust proofing is done.. only to what extend, guess ours should be good to last a bit.. before most change car anyway... haaa..

All the metal parts should have been galvanised or painted, if not it will rust in no time. However, depending on your driving road condition and/or luck, it may not last as long, as even a tiny nick in the paint or galvanised parts may expose the metal to rusting, in which will spread eventually.
